It was decent - just ok really. For the good things: the hotel and grounds, in general, were clean and convenient. The room was large with a big bathroom and great shower. The bed was comfortable and had the right amount of support.
Now for the not so good: the on-site restaurant was under construction and unavailable. I just went up to Liftyâs up the street, but I wasnât notified of this when booking or during check-in. Would have been nice to know. The free hot breakfast is always a nice benefit, but it wasnât good at all. Imitation eggs were so overly salty they were barely edible. Sausage links were undercooked. Bagels and muffins were stale. The pool and hot tub were crowded the two times I tried to use them. The âgymâ is a joke - a resistance machine, one treadmill, an elliptical, a stationary bike, and a set of kettle bells. No actual free weights or bar sets and it was extremely hot in there. The wall thermostat in my room didnât work at all and I had to manually adjust the AC and fan on the unit. Itâs pretty evident that this hotel, which isnât very old, is already showing its age.
Lastly, the staff werenât terribly friendly nor did they seem to care too much about my experience. I understand the hospitality industry is difficult, but folks who work the front desk should be - you know - hospitable. Or at least just personable. This is the most convenient hotel to my office by far, but I think I might try somewhere else next time.
