This was the cutest cottage for our first trip to Maine! We loved taking our dog for walks on the trails behind the house. There was plenty of wildlife and beauty right behind the house. This was the best place for birdwatching! We could hear the loons from our window at night, and we saw them in the lake a few times. The cottage itself was beautifully decorated, spotless, and had everything we needed for cooking dinners. The host, Jon, was quick to respond to our questions and made the whole stay seamless with his kindness and hospitality. Belfast is a wonderful town with shops and views of the river. We preferred it compared to more crowded places like Bar Harbor. We would definitely stay here again!
My husband, dog, and I stayed there for a few days in early May. The weather wasnât that great but thatâs not the host problem. The home though was not what we expected, nor was there any communication about check-in and checkout, and or where the proper appliances were and/or the garbage disposal. We discovered that all on our own. What I had read in the comments, it sounded great however there wasnât sufficient paper products (I.e. Paper towel towels/toilet paper). I was smart enough to bring a roll of paper towels, and when we stopped at the local grocery store and picked up two rolls of toilet paper. On the website, it says that they were sufficient in the kitchen and had a lobster pot. Well guess what someone took their lobster pot because itâs wasnât there. We went to Youngâs Lobster pound and had them cook our lobster and brought it back with us.All in all the place wasnât very clean and the couch was not comfortable whatsoever. I had to actually sit on a pillow for support. The home needs some updates. But it is a great location, but be aware of the pictures are deceiving.
The cottage was cozy and had everything I needed. The walking path was great for me and my dog. The sunsets were fantastic and my stay great even though it rained most of the time.
Great cozy cottage, right on the Belfast railtrail. You can have an easy walk into town or out to the headwaters of the river. The cottage had everything we needed, cooking supplies, full kitchen, laundry and wifi access. Our host wasGracious, communicative and flexible. Thank you Jon! Hope to be back. gracious, communicative and flexible. Thank you for
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It had all we needed and the radiant heat in the floor was a plus!
We enjoyed the town and plan to return in the future ! Thanks Jon !
Perfect for our anniversary trip. We loved walking into town on the rail trail under the fall leaves. Quiet, beautiful and peaceful. Kitchen was the most well stocked out any rental we have ever stayed in. Had literally everything you could possibly need. Highly recommend!
Excellent small cottage located just outside of Belfast downtown in quiet area. It includes everything to make your stay enjoyable. Host is responsive and communicates well.
My husband, dog, and I stayed at the cottage for 4 nights and loved every minute of it! If we had been there with kids, they would have loved the lofted bedroom as well. The setting was so beautiful, and we used the pathway outside the cottage every morning for walks either into town or into nature. The bed was so comfy, and everything was clean and well kept. Jon was a fantastic host, very communicative, welcoming and friendly! He made a point of welcoming us into the cottage, the town, and the property as a whole.
Belfast the town was a fantastic home base for day trips to Acadia and surrounding towns/sites, or just hanging out and having a meal at one of the wonderful restaurants. We would recommend this property to anyone considering staying in the area and would stay again!
Nice cottage with everything you need. My dog appreciated the Belfast Rail Trail, accessible from the property. I appreciated the short distance to downtown, restaurants, harbor, etc. Jon, the owner, said hello and made sure all was well.
We thoroughly loved our stay with our two miniature dachshunds. The house and grounds worked perfectly for us in a great location to explore Belfast, Acadia, and the areas nearby. We highly recommend it. We will return!
We stayed two weeks at this property and very much enjoyed it. The cottage is near the Belfast rail trail and we walked on this every day. We liked that the location felt very private yet it was only about a mile walk on the rail trail to Belfast harbor. The other great thing about this property is proximity to the Passagassawakeag River. It's just at the backside of the property and the owners have a very nice dock that was available for our use. The cottage had everything we needed and was very comfortable. We highly recommend this property!
Great cabin with comfort and has everything you need for a stay in Belfast. We have two boys (17,20), they shared loft room and had own 1/2 bath. We used the kayaks and the chiminea. Turkeys walking around in the morning. We drove to Acadia NP, explored Belfast. Best seafood in Belfast that we had was at Nautilus and best meal overall was at an Italian bistro on main street called Delvino's. Weather kept us from additional outside activities in Belfast so we drove to NP a few times. I would definitely return to this private cabin in Belfast, Jon was very accommodating and was very responsive.
This property was stunning! We had a wonderful warm welcome and the home and grounds were magnificent! There were long walks on the trail and peaceful kayak experiences on the ocean. I highly recommend this rental if you are looking for a quiet village with lots of art and farmer's markets. Jon was really helpful and good at communicating.
This cozy cabin was perfect for our stay. The location is picturesque and close to nature, while still being a short drive away from the center of Belfast. We had a great time!
Excellently appointed cottage with everything you could possibly need, including a kitchen aid mixer. Very nice appliances, very comfortable beds, unique decorations. Definitely not cookie cutter. Private setting but close to town, .98mi 20 minute saunter on the trail. Good base for day trips.
Very responsive owner and property manager, Cindi.
Would happily stay again
The cottage was wonderful. Jon has created a very relaxing vibe at this cottage. It is a quick 20-30 minute stroll or a 5 minute car ride to downtown Belfast, and a 1 hour drive to Acadia. Highly recommended!
