WELCOME GUESTS!
The Brickyard Creek Cottages (BYC) is an environmental âcommunity of private residencesâ with a small percentage of privately owned rental cottages. Individual owners and families come to enjoy the natural setting and quiet privacy of their cabin in the woods. âBYCâs community rental policies below:â
COTTAGE PRIVACY:â âJoin us in enjoying the natural setting: forest trails, creek, and over 70 acres of Bayfield Boreal Forest. Honor the privacy of residents and other guestsâoânly use designated nature trails or roads to explore the area. The areas along the lake are privately owned and are not part of the BYC community land. Please respect our neighbors!
QUIET ESCAPE IN THE WOODS:â Sâounds carry through the woods. Keep Brickyard Creek a 'tranquil nature escape' for everyone by refraining from loud music and excessive porch noise. Communityâ quiet hours âare enforced daily between 1â0pm and 8am.â
HEALTH DEPARTMENT LIMITS:â Eâach cottage is approved by the Bayfield County Health Department to accommodate a maximum number of guests deemed appropriate to the cottage style.â All guests must be registered. Adding guests after registration is strictly prohibited. The local health code is regulated and monitored.
COMMUNITY BEACH:â Enjoy the community's private beach and covered picnic area as you look out at the Apostle Islands. Be safe; absolutely no climbing on the rock wall. The jagged boulders are unstable and shifting daily. The marina land, docks, furniture, and clubhouse adjacent to the community beach are for paid mâarina members onlyâ. There is âno public bathroomâ available at the lakefrontâ. The parking spaces at Roy's Point Marina are for boaters renting the marina slips âonlyâ. Please walk, using either the trail or road system, when visiting the beach.
PARKING:â Guests are allotted space for âtwo cars or motorcyclesâ at each rental cottage. Nâo RV, boat, or trailer parking is allowed at cabins.â Parking for excess cars and alternative vehicles is available for a small nightly fee adjacent to the marina. âContact Roy's Point Marina to reserve space in advance of your arrivalâ. The Brickyard Creek Association, residents and/or rental agents assume no responsibility for loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings in or on the Brickyard Creek property.
ATV's & UTV'S: All-terrain vehicles and snowmobiles are ânot permittedâ on Brickyard Creek roads.

CAMPFIRES:â Enjoy the community fire pit located near the beach by the gazebo. There is usually firewood availableâ. DO NOT pick up wood on the common grounds, private lots, or along the trails. Be alert to wind and weather conditions. Fast-moving embers easily burn holes in sails of boats at the marina or start forest fires. Please be careful not to build roaring fires. Do not leave fires unattended and ensure they are fully extinguishedâ when leaving the area. âFires are not permitted anywhere else on BYC properties.
GRILLS:â Pâropane or electric grills are available at most properties for guest use. Guests shall be required to clean grills after use. Failure to do so will result in a $â25 fee. Propane should be TâURNED OFFâ after use and câover placed on grill AâFTER âgrill is cool.â Please notify Windseeker Rentals when propane runs out.
HOLDING TANKS:â â The majority of the Brickyard Creek Cottages have holding tanks, not a sewer or septic system. Please âdon't run water unnecessarily or flush any feminine products.â We ask that only registered guests to the cottage unit use the bath/shower facilities.
GARBAGE & RECYCLING:â Oâur community recycles câans, cardboard, plastic, and glassââ we hope you will too! Gâarbage and recycling dumpsters are located just past the intersection of Roy's Point Boulevard and Brickyard Creek Roadâ. Please "free your recyclables" by placing them directly in the dedicated dumpster or use a paper bag. We are charged an added fee for every plastic bag found in our recycling dumpster. Thank you for your efforts. âEvery little bit counts!
CHILDREN & FAMILIES:â â The love of the environment starts in childhood. Kids are always welcome!â Please âprovide adult supervision to ensure their safetyâ and the solitude of the other guests and residents.
TWENTY IS PLENTY:â â The roads in Brickyard Creek are considered part of the trail system. For the safety of all pedestrians, âdrive 20 mph or lessâ. Particularly watch for children whose enthusiasm may cause them to outpace their adult supervisors.
NATIVE TREES & FLORA:â Brickyard cottages are "of the land, not on the land." During construction, very few trees and natural plants were disturbed. We ask you to be cautious of marked "nature rehabilitation" areasâ, and please don't pick wildflowers.
COTTAGE FIREPLACES:â âWood burning fireplaces in chalets are NâOT for guest useâ unless otherwise specified.
MEET THE NEIGHBORS:â âBrickyard Creek is a residential community of private Lake Superior cabins with a small percentage of rental cottages. Individual owners, families, and guests come to enjoy the natural setting and the tranquility of the Bayfield Boreal Forest. In this quiet environmental community, the âcabins are of the land not on the land.â The community consists of a group of active people âcommitted to maintaining this unique boreal forest environment, promoting education, and creating a legacy of responsible stewardshipâ.
Cozy cottage in the woods. Perfect for our family of 4. Comfy beds, linens, and blankets. Our favorite was the screened porch! Highly recommend this place for anyone staying in the area. Quiet neighborhood & convenient to visiting Apostle Islands.
The property was very clean, in a quiet residential community and very close to everything we wanted to experience.
(Make sure you check that the fireplace flew is open.) We really enjoyed the screen porch.
ammenities provided were excellent. provided most of what is need. Our only complaint is after first night we took showers upstairs and when we went downstairs the kitchen floor was wet. Shower leaked on top of fridge and dripped down to floor. Not blaming owners for that just the fact when i informed them of it they were aware of it but didn't tell us as we would not have used it.There was no water on bathroom floor. Other than that everything was excellent
A perfect location for a Lake Superior/Bayfield/Cornucopia visit. Property was A+. We utilized the screened porch as much as any room in the cabin. Superbly decorated. We will return.
The house is absolutely charming and Frank Lloyd Wright-esque. Quiet, tucked back into a wooded area. Very easy access to Bayfield and the activities we were in town for.
Very nice with great linens and the screened in porch was very nice. Only problem was that we came from somewhere else and we needed to wash some clothes, but found there was no dryer. Found out after a phone call that we weren't supposed to use the washer, although didn't see that stated anywhere.
Holy cow, these ladies have this down to a science. The house simply could not be cuter or more cozy. Attractive art on on the walls, everything you could want in the kitchen, and the best part of it was the fireplace. A double-sided fireplace between the living room and master bedroom! We loved each evening sitting down to very comfortable chairs and a warm fire. Plenty of soaps and stuff in the bathrooms, all clearly labeled. Clear instructions in the binder, and overall very professional job hosting this property. Make sure you check out the trails in the woods - this whole area is amazingly quiet and serene. We loved our morning walks. Hosts were very accommodating of our needs. I would absolutely stay here again.
