This place was perfect for what we wanted. A beautiful and peaceful getaway. The house is so bright and modern. It has everything you need for a lake house. We can't wait to come back when the weather breaks. The swans and ducks made our stay that much more perfect. Great communication with the owner as well. 5 star property!

Perfect Getaway
My sister and I rented this cute little cottage for a weekend away to hang out, relax and scrapbook. The cottage is very clean and nicely decorated. Since it was Fall, we didn't get to experience the lake but saw that they had plenty of fun things to do with kayaks and an outdoor firepit. The inside was stocked with games, books and movies. The owners do a great job of communicating and respond quickly to any questions. They also had a 3 ring binder filled with helpful information that included things to do in the area and local restaurants. Thank you for a wonderful weekend getaway!

Relaxation
We enjoyed every minute of peace and quiet. The house was extremely clean and stocked with everything you could need. Not to far from the city with plenty of convenience stores close by. The weather wasnt great but that gave us more of a reason to not leave house. The homeowners have done a wonderful job with this property. Cant wait to visit again.

Peaceful and serene autumn getaway
We were searching for a dog-friendly place to stay near Marshall, MI, and wow did we luck out! Such a clean and charming house; we were busy attending the "Bewitching Peddlers of Halloween" art show and visiting with local family so we didn't get to spend time on the water, but just gazing at the lake while sipping my morning coffee lowered my blood pressure. :) (Taking the paddleboat out would have been fun!) I loved seeing the Harvest Moon rise over the trees every night, and hearing the birds, crickets, and frogs. The area is very wooded and pastoral, with many breweries, restaurants, and other fun destinations in easy driving distance. The owners provided so many thoughtful amenities, including bottled water, snacks, games, movies, and a binder chock-full of helpful information. We didn't use the kitchen to cook, but it was stocked with everything you might need to prepare a meal. Before we left we were fortunate enough to meet the owners, and they were kind and gracious; you can tell that each guest's comfort and relaxation is important to them. We were sad to leave!!

Perfect marriage retreat
My husband and I booked a long weekend to celebrate becoming empty nesters. Mill Lake was so quiet and peaceful. Hastings and Battle Creek are equidistant for restaurants, groceries, or entertainment (Hastings was celebrating Summerfest during our visit, which was fun). Theresa and Richard provided an exceptional welcome upon our arrival and we were able to meet them briefly. They have thought of everything someone may need at a home away from home. We enjoyed the pontoon paddleboat, kayaks, and sitting outside enjoying the view of the lake. The property was 100% as advertised.

just really nice
This is a small and beautifully renovated small home (with a single small bedroom with a full size bed, reasonable size common area and bathroom) with a small backyard on a pretty lake. For my wife and I and our small dog, Rocky, it was very comfortable. We enjoyed using the owner-supplied paddleboats & kayaks as well as just the peaceful views and weekday quiet. The cottage was immaculately clean, light and airy. There were even some snacks left for us by the owners. It is worth mentioning that the kitchen is indeed fully equipped. It had literally everything that I could need, from pots & pans to a pizza cutter to ground coffee and two different types of coffee makers. I even found a pair of scissors when I needed them. Downsides: none that I can think of.

Perfect Quiet Getaway
This was our second time at this property and somehow the second time was even better than the first! The property is beautiful and the house is very well kept. The kayaks, tubes, paddle boat, sand, and lots more were perfect. We brought our dog with and he never left the lake. Highly recommended!

Hostetler gathering.
Although the overhead recessed lights in the kitchen didn't work,the property was very nice.our grandchildren had a marvelous time and the older grandchildren enjoyed the paddle boats and row boat with the trolling motor.They even catch and release fish in the lake.We hope we left the property in respectable condition.Thank you again.

A perfect place to stay!
From the moment we arrived, we knew it was a great find! The house is pristine and well stocked with everything one could need! The mattress was comfy. And the openness of the home allowed for a lot of light and wonderful views of the lake. The kayaks, paddle boats and floats were perfect for getting out on the lake. I can’t say enough about our stay. Kudos to Theresa and Richard!

It was the perfect little place to meet up with a friend. Easy to find and we learned only 20 minutes away you can find a brand new, New Holland Brewery! It was nice to be on the lake, kayaking and swimming. Just what I needed for a weekend getaway without the kiddos.

Perfect Cozy Cottage
This was our second stay, the first time it was winter. This cabin is perfect in any season. It's very clean, everything you might need is there. Being pet friendly was a plus for us, and our GWP loved fetching her bumper in the lake. We enjoyed the firepit, wood is supplied for you!! Conveniently located between Battle Creek and Hastings, the entire area is beautiful. The owners are very responsive and lovely to work with. We will be back!

This was exactly what I was hoping for when I wanted to take a mental break. The cottage was very cute and clean. It felt like home away from home. The view was beautiful and serene. My pup, Miko, was very happy as well. I was so happy to be able to enjoy the time I had there with him. This property was everything I hoped it would be. The fall colors were beautiful and made for excellent kayaking. The neighbors worked on beautifying their yard all weekend which made me feel a little lazy ;) but other that it was perfect.

2nd Stay
This was our 2nd stay with our Doodle. We absolutely love it and plan to vaca again next year. The cabin/cottage is well stocked. Be sure to look through the renovation photo album. Hastings is a short jaunt…Tyden Park had great walking paths for Olive…Tom’s Market has an outstanding meat counter for grilling, with house made brats, jerky, etc..Cotants Farm Market had cider, donuts, freshly made variety of kettle corn…Many quaint shops.

We Could Live Here!
This cottage is perfect for a couple or small family. It’s clean, wonderfully quiet, and has all the amenities you could possibly need. The new sit-on kayaks were lots of fun and life vests are provided. Richard and Theresa are great hosts and have done such a great job remodeling the cottage. We will stay again! Love this cottage❤️

Just Like Home....Only Better
This was a perfect stay. The lake was clear for swimming. The house itself is cozy and immaculate and Theresa our host went about 150% out of her way to help us figure out TV's and DVD's. Loved the chairs on the deck and the whole place felt quite private. The only thing I didn't like was that we had to leave and go home!

This updated cottage has all the amenities for a nice vacation. Quiet neighborhood on the lake. Just bring yourself and a suitcase. They have everything else including several different watercraft.
