I know our pricing is lower than others in the area. I guess this is why our property was chosen.Since our state issued Covid protocol, we kept in place the take your trash out policy.Our business partner died of COVID. There have been current guests canceling due to COVID so the policy remains in place. We have had guests leave us enough trash for 3 employees to spend 30-60 minutes in the room on trash alone, so yes, we ask guests to remove it before checking out. These Cottages are like Tiny Houses, not just a room for rent.Dishes? YES. We have walked in to food on dishes in sinks in kitchenettes. Again, this is not acceptable to us. We still sanitize and bag up dishes after being washed. "washed" to us is pretty much - remove food off of dishes please.WE DO NOT tell anyone they have to bag towels or sheets.During the Pandemic, yes, now no.This suggestion was meant for those of you who DO remake a dirty bed. We just state if you want to do a clean up of that sort you may. It is not a requirement. We are so sorry you took our wording that way.It is sad to read this and we also wish the new owners to be a better experience with the difficult work of hosting and that whatever efforts they put in to host is well accepted.

I (the owner) looked at the booking history to see what occurred. This reservation was self booked by the guest. The first booking is indeed a pet friendly unit as the guest stated there are details that come once a Booking happens all it is is a repeat of details that are in the listing most of the time guest don’t read the listing but a lot of the times when the Booking details come they’ll read those. In the details it stated that units one through four are pet friendly we post that number one in case someone wants to bring a pet and number two in case someone has an allergy to where a pet has been since some people have severe allergies we clean well but we want them to know in case it affects them. We received a cancellation from the guest self Cancellation then we received a re-booking from the guest self Booking there was no 50 fee whatsoever we used the deposit from the first booking has credit for the second booking. Pet units have extra fees if you bring a pet people stay in the pet units and don’t bring a pet and don’t pay the extra fees. I’m not sure where the misunderstanding came. We do see that there are more misunderstandings through the booking engines if a guest wants they can get more communication by calling the property. We had a recent situation with the burners in that unit it is in the middle of the busy season our solution was to cover them up with a board that the dish strainer sits on over the sink and to put a burner accessory in the kitchen this guest removed the board to take their pictures. The plan is to fix an update when we’re not already booked the property closes October 23 for the season. Concerning housekeeping it started with Covid and after Covid the lack of workers another reason that we are in some ways glad we don’t have daily housekeeping as I’ve seen many other properties adopt a policy of is that for some reason housekeeping staff are accused of stealing and if we don’t have housekeeping we have no accusations. In all of the details that this guest speaks about “rules” it is said that you may leave your linen bag out for us to collect for you and bring you new linens as desired. Another such rule is that guests may have free ice every day. Also Covid took away guests dipping into the ice machine themselves so now we bag the ice we hold it in a cooler and we say In our plethora of rules that we can deliver it to the guests at their will. We also offer larger bags for sale if a guest wants ice for a cooler. This guest did not rebook through West directly otherwise they would not be able to leave a review on Expedia it isn’t permitted for guests who did not book through Expedia.The guest did seem put off immediately by needing to walk over to their cottage the cottage that they chose to stay in without calling for clarification. We have a map of our property that guests can see before they come they also can see it before they book. That is included in our long line of “rules“.

We have had an unusual amount of crazy rain. 10 weeks straight from like May-June and now July is sporadic and soppy too. Gina- thank you. Ya know in hindsight. I’d have loved for you to have called me do I could go knock on that guest door or call. We renovated and double insulated the walls and added extra thick plywood when we re did the rooms. This makes. Me feel sad. Uncalled for for sure! Common courtesy would have been appreciated. Thank you for you kindness anyway.

Hey Tonda it was nice to have you as our guest thank you for your descriptive review I am always concerned that people think because the name of our property is a EdenVillage Motel and cottages that it’s all cottages and it isn’t I’m glad you pointed it out we come through and re-worded all of them last year so that they would be clearer and for some reason I’m not sure why but they don’t seem to be the reservation did say motel room so I have no idea how Cottages got in there except in the title of our name it is best for Guess to call the property direct to find out exactly what they can choose from
