Cherry Tree Cottage - Cosy 19th Century Cottage
The space:
Really feel like you’re getting away from it all!
Cherry Tree Cottage in the Isle of Doagh, is the perfect location for a romantic getaway or a peaceful retreat from your busy life. Located on a calm inlet of the Wild Atlantic Way, Trawbreaga Bay is a Special Protected Area for wild birds. This lovingly restored cottage dates from the early 1800’s and is bursting with character. It has original stone walls, handmade furniture and beautiful wood panelling. It is located at the end of a long lane, out of sight from the road and has views across the bay to Malin Head. Wake up to the sounds of the birds in this quiet secluded spot with private garden. Bask in the peace, quiet, serenity, and beautiful scenery surrounding this cosy cottage.
You’ll only be a short drive from the pristine sandy beaches at Lagahurry, the 16th Century Carrickabraghy Castle and the Doagh Famine Village museum, all also located in the Isle of Doagh. You can also walk to these locations. The world Renowned Ballyliffin Golf Club is 5 minute drive with Ballyliffin village 2 minutes beyond that, where there are options to dine out. Carndonagh is a 10 minute drive away and Buncrana 25 minutes. All amenities are available if you decide to cook and dine in, or eat al fresco at sunset. Feel free to help yourself to the fresh herbs from the herb garden!
This is a perfect location to explore the rest of the Inishowen Peninsula – the numerous deserted sandy beaches, the Urris Lakes walks, Malin Head, the Glenevin Waterfall, Dunree Military Fort, the Inishowen Maritime Museum & Planetarium, the ‘Inishowen 100’ scenic driving route to name but a few. Or alternatively, rest, relax and revel in the peaceful downtime you can experience by just chilling out at the cottage.
