Au millieu des citronniers
Endroit authentique et absolument charmant au millieu des citronniers et des orangers. Un petit paradis au printemps avec de larges terrasses pour la détente et la rêverie. Les hôtes sont très chaleureux et d'une grande gentillesse. On aimerait vraiment y revenir plus longtemps!

Endroit unique par la beauté et par l'accueil qui vous est réservé
Magnifique maison entourée d'un verger splendide, nichée en pleine nature. La région est superbe, beaucoup de choses sont à voir à moins de 1h de voiture. Les hôtes sont extraordinairement accueillants: nous avons été gâtés par les produits locaux qu'ils nous ont offerts, par leur gentillesse et leur disponibilité. Il est bien difficile de trouver un endroit plus charmant et des hôtes plus agréables.

Fabulous
The family (with kids ranging 5 to 12) spent five nights at the end of October / early November, with weather still pleasant (all meals, including breakfasts, spent at the outside terrace. The lovely hosts met us in Avola to showed us the way, helped us with the bagagge, and gave us little trays of fresh fruit. Overall we had a relaxing and fabulous stay, and we hope to come back.

Wohnen im Zitronengarten
Ein sehr gemütliches Haus in einem wunderbaren Zitrusgarten - ein grünes Paradies. Wir haben uns vom ersten Moment an sehr wohl gefühlt: Sehr freundlicher Empfang durch die Gastgeber und deren Hund, der auch auf dem Grundstück wohnt und gut auf uns aufgepasst hat. Wir konnten Gemüse und Früchte aus dem Garten nutzen. Besonders schön war die große überdachte Terasse, wir konnten bei jedem Wetter draußen essen und den Tag verbringen, immer mit Blick auf die Berge und viel Grün. Die Lage war für uns Top, Noto und Avola erreicht man schnell, auch Syrakus ist gut zu erreichen. Das Haus liegt etwas einsam und abgelegen, deshalb war es schön, dass die Gastgeber uns in Avola getroffen haben und wir gemeinsam zum Haus gefahren sind. WLAN gibt es nicht, Mobilfunk schwächelt etwas, war für uns aber ausreichend und hat deswegen überhaupt nicht gestört. Unsere Urlaubswoche war viel zu schnell vorbei, wir wären gerne länger geblieben und kommen sehr gerne wieder.

Ein Paradies!
Diese wunderschöne Oase hat unsere Erwartungen übertroffen! Wer Erholung inmitten der Natur sucht, ist hier genau richtig. Das Haus liegt abgelegen, umgeben von einem riesigen Garten mit einer Vielfalt an Obstbäumen und Gemüse, an denen wir uns frei bedienen durften (Tomaten, Auberginen, Fenchel, Zucchini, Orangen, Zitronen, Grapefruit, Khaki, Bananen, Granatapfel,..) Die Gastgeber sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Alles ist schön eingerichtet und es hat uns an nichts gefehlt. Der Hund, der auf das Grundstück aufpasst, ist lieb und unaufdringlich. Es gibt eine Tischtennisplatte, eine zusätzliche Außenküche mit Grill, eine zusätzliche Außendusche, eine Hängematte und eine große Terrasse mit vielen Sitz- und Liegemöglichkeiten. Wir haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt und kommen gerne wieder. Vielen Dank Lorena und Turi!

Groen paradijsje in het ruwe landschap
We genoten van de groene oase die dit verblijf ons gaf. De buitendouche is heerlijk! Het overdekte terras zalig! Ook de gastvrijheid van de eigenaars maken van dit eenvoudig verblijf een topper! Ideale uitvalbasis voor een bezoekje aan Noto, de afdaling ( én klim) in het spectaculaire Cava Grande en de bootjes verhuur in Avola! Aanrader!

Großartig
Wir haben mit unseren 3 Kindern 2 wundervolle Wochen in dem traumhaftem Haus verbracht! Zuerst möchte ich sagen das unsere sehr warmherzigen Gastgeber total hilfsbereit , freundlich und absolut großartig waren! Vielen Dank dafür . Das Grundstück und das Haus ist für naturverbundene Menschen absolut zu empfehlen! Das Haus ist sehr liebevoll mit allem was man braucht eingerichtet. Das Grundstück (Anwesen) ist riesig und super gepflegt! Jeder Strauch und jeder Baum hält was für einen bereit! Unglaublich lecker. Für unsere drei Töchter war der liebe Wachhund und das Pferd was man besuchen durfte das Highlight. Wir freuen uns drauf wiederkommen. Außergewöhnlich, fantastisch! Herzlichen Dank!

Beautiful country spot in the perfect location
Wonderful wonders who offered us lots of ideas for places to explore. Their suggestions for how to visit Etna made for a great day. The property is beautiful and full of fruit trees and nature. My youngest spent a lot of time “hunting” for lizards and just enjoying the yard. My kids all said their outdoor showers were the best showers of their lives!

Charmantes Haus in großartiger Umgebung
Wir haben dieses Jahr eine Woche in diesem urlaubsgerecht, aber sehr liebevoll eingerichteten Haus verbracht und haben es sehr genossen. Das Haus liegt absolut ruhig in einem traumhaften Hain mit Zitrusfrüchten und vielerlei anderen Bäumen, die von den Eigentümern bewirtschaftet werden. Sehr angenehm im Sommer ist sowohl der großzügig, überdachte Außenbereich als die anderen schattigen Sitzmöglichkeiten, es ist aber auch jederzeit ein Platz in der Sonne zu finden. Es gibt sowohl eine Außenküche, wie auch eine Außendusche, die wir auch täglich genutzt haben, da Bad mit Toilette wirklich überaus klein und nicht über ein abgetrennte Dusche verfügt. Für uns war das in Ordnung so, andere werden das sicherlich als nachteilig empfinden. Anzumerken ist auch, dass die Treppe ins OG steil ist und sehr kurze Stufen hat. Rauf ist kein Problem, beim Heruntergehen ist aber Vorsicht geboten. Der "Wachhund" eine wirklich eine Seele von Hund und ist u.E. absolut familientauglich. Die Freizeitmöglichkeiten sind gut, mit dem Auto sind Etna, Syrakus, Ragusa und inbesondere das wunderschöne Noto sind in gut erreichbarer Nähe und es eine Reihe netter Wanderungen, die sich anbieten.

Een paradijsje tussen de citroenbomen
Een wat afgelegen plek (10 min van Avola, 10 min van Noto) met een prettig huis, robuuste inrichting, slaapzolder. Mooi groot overdekt terras, overdekte buitenkeuken, veel leuke zitplekjes, bloemen, struiken, boomgaard met fruit en kruiden, alles te gebruiken. Zeer vriendelijke behulpvaardige eigenaren. Hond Lau bewaakt het terrein en kwam ons af en toe gezelschap houden. Een mooi plekje midden in de natuur maar niet ver weg van bezienswaardigheden in dit deel van Sicilië. We zijn er een weekje helemaal tot rust gekomen.

Beautiful countyside house with a gorgeous garden and plantation of various citrus fruits. The house is relatively new, spacious and tastefully furnitured. Un angolo di paradiso
La casa di Turi e Lorena é un angolo di paradiso circondato dalla natura. Fornita di qualsiasi cosa si possa aver bisogno.. Da frutta, verdura, tavolo da ping pong, cucina e doccia esterna sotto lo splendido noce. Lau é il cane di casa ed é adorabile. A poco più di 10 minuti d'auto dal centro di Avola. Per quanto ci riguarda, non potevamo trovare casa e host migliori di loro per esplorare la Sicilia orientale.

Wunderbarer Ort, wunderbare Menschen!
Sonnenaufgang über dem Zitronenhain - hier haben wir uns unglaublich wohlgefühlt! Ein Ort zum Ausruhen und genießen. Das angenehme Haus, umgeben von teils schattigen, teils sonnigen Terrassen liegt inmitten eines Gartens mit Oliven- und Zitrusbäumen, Granatapfel-, Mandel-, Zwetschgen- und Kakhibäumen und riesigen Kräuterbüschen. Ein guter Ausgangspunkt auch für unsere Tagesausflüge in die Umgebung: an den Strand, Spaziergänge bzw. Wanderungen in Canyon und Vogelschutzgebiet, zu malerischen Barockstädtchen. Hierfür bekamen wir super Tipps von dem vermietenden Ehepaar - unglaublich netten, hilfsbereiten Leuten! Und der Hund, der das Grundstück bewacht, wurde unser treuer Gefährte - ein m.E. absolut familientaugliches, freundliches Tier. Weil es so schön war, haben wir unseren Aufenthalt dort um eine Woche verlängert. Vor der Abreise deckten wir uns mit von den Vermietern selbst erzeugtem Olivenöl, Mandeln und Marmeladen ein, die diese verkaufen - sooo lecker! Wir haben eine große Herzlichkeit erlebt und alle ins Herz geschlossen! Der Abschied viel uns schwer, aber wir kommen wieder!!!!! Ein riesiges Dankeschön für die schöne Zeit an Lorena und Turi!

Absolutely loved the house, the location near the Cava Grande and the beach, the sweet dog and of course the garden full of fresh fruit, herbs and tomatoes. Wunderbarer Urlaub auf dem Land
Wir verbrachten eine Woche auf dem ländlichen Anwesen und hatten eine sehr erholsame Zeit. Das Grundstück ist riesig und das Haus bis in das Detail liebevoll gestaltet. Zum Einkaufen bzw. Strandbesuch (ca. 20 min.) ist ein Auto jedoch unerlässlich. Wir kommen sicherlich wieder.

Fijn vakantiehuis in de bergen net boven Avola.
Een typisch Siciliaans huis met buitenkeuken en buitendouche op een eigen perceel met citroenbomen en allerlei andere mediterrane planten. De vriendelijke eigenaren werken soms rond het huis. Wij hebben daar geen hinder van gehad. In overleg bleef hun hond bij het huis. Hij heeft zijn eigen plek en komt niet bij het huis maar is wel blij als er mensen zijn. Het ruime huis heeft boven 5 bedden verdeeld over 4 ruimtes die met elkaar in open verbinding staan. Beneden is een kleine keuken en wc/douche, daarnaast 2 ruime eetkamers, maar geen ‘zitkamer’ met b.v. een bank. Ook een tafel met info en folders over de omgeving. Wij zaten meestal buiten onder het overdekte terras. Met een huurauto is er in de zuidoosthoek van Sicilië voldoende te zien en te doen op het gebied van natuur en cultuur. De eigenaren zijn vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Wij hebben hier mede door het fijne weer eind april een leuke vakantieweek gehad.

little paradise
We had a wonderful week in the country house near Avola. Lorena and Turi are the nicest hosts ever, very helpful and generous with everything. The house has everything that one can need, we enjoyed fresh lemons and oranges from the trees in the garden, the morning shower in the garden under the walnut tree, breakfast in the sun with a beautiful view and very quiet. Lau, the dog, was great company, saying hello in the morning and evening, when we came back from our trips to Noto, Syracusa, Modica, the canyons and the beaches. Very good place to discover the southeast of Sicily.

Just wonderful!
We spent almost 2 weeks in this wonderful location. The house is spacious and equipped with everything you need, the garden feels like paradise, and there are many beautiful beaches as well as beautiful historical towns (Noto, Syrakusa, Modica, Ragusa) to visit. What makes this location really outstanding is the great hospitality of the owners: they showed us around in the beautiful garden and invited us to taste all the delecious fruit and vegetables and nuts, they are warm-hearted and very generous in every respect. We hope to come back soon!

schönes Haus in wunderbarer Lage
Tolle einsame Lage des Hauses inmitten von Orangen/Zitronenbäume. Nette Vermieter und ein gut erzogener Hund der das Grundstück "bewacht" Ein Auto ist notwendig um das Haus zu erreichen. Wir kommen sicher wieder!

Silent holiday
We couldn't been more satisfied. One of our best holidays. The owners were very nice, she spoke very good english, and we always hade interesting talks. You have to be preparde to drive in small roads up in the hills, and be aware that we have different ways to drive in separate countrys. When renting this house there also follows a dog - good to know! He is guarding the plot and its guests. Long to see Lau again though sometimes he and other dogs were barking a lot! Muy buena
La propiedad es hermosa, los espacios al exterior son lo mejor de la casa. hay lugar para descansar fuera con una vista hermosa. El espacio de cocina afuera también nos fue super útil, utilizamos la parrilla para asar pescado. Mi experiencia personal fue muy buena, estuve alojada con mis hijas pequeñas. Lorena y Turi acondicionaron la casa para brindarnos mayor seguridad para ellas. El entorno natural fue clave para nuestra estancia, las niñas jugaban afuera todo el tiempo entre los arboles, cosecharon los tomates de la huerta, y hasta se duchaban em la ducha exterior que es maravillosa. la casa está muy bien equipada, tiene todo lo necesario. muy limpia y cómoda. Lo único que quizás nos hizo falta, fue una maquina para el lavado de ropa. pasamos una semana hermosa, las playas cercanas son muy lindas y las ciudades cercanas también. Lorena y Turi son muy atentos, estaban pendientes de cualquier necesidad. Nos esperaron con higos frescos y mermelada casera.!!!! Todo muy bueno.

Blissfully peaceful
This is a charming rural home up a quiet country road in the hills about a 15 minute drive from Avola, and maybe 20 mins from historic Baroque hill town Noto. It's well located for visiting other places, but so pretty and restful we found we just wanted to sit in the garden all day, enjoying the sunshine, shade and gentle breeze from the hills. The house is surrounded by fruit trees, and the owners very generously are happy for guests to eat from the garden, picking tomatoes, peppers and delicious aubergines from the vegetable plot. There's both an indoor and an outdoor kitchen, well equipped with utensils and pretty crockery, and lots of different seating areas inside and out, including a hammock and a tree house (didn't scale the walnut tree to try that out but it looked sound). Enjoy a beautiful view of hills across the valley and butterflies and lizards darting around the flower pots. As other guests have already written, the owners, Lorena, Turi and sons, are very welcoming and thoughtful. They arranged to meet us at an easy-to-find location and led us to the house. They provided basic provisions like bread, fruit, almond milk and tea, on arrival, and then left little gifts of home-made jam, handfuls of almonds, local wine and herb-infused liqueur. (You'll probably find olive oil, vinegar, salt, herbs etc already in the kitchen). They visit to water the garden very unobtrusively and refill the water tank in the evenings. If you want to be sociable, or ask advice, they're happy to help, and chat, but if you want to keep to yourselves you'd hardly notice they'd passed by. None of these things concerned us at all, but a few things to note: the stairs to the bedrooms upstairs are very steep (almost a ladder). Upstairs there are no doors between the bedrooms - the different sleeping areas are relatively private, but you have to walk through 1&2 to get to 3. There is a very gentle dog who watches the property and stays up out of the way, up by the perimeter gate (the owners will take him home with them if you don't want him there). He gets very happy and tail waggy when you come home, and was an unexpected but very cheerful addition. We absolutely loved our week here and hope to return. A big thank you Lorena and Turi for all your kindness.

Posto ideale per assaporare la bellezza della Sicilia
Abbiamo trascorso due bellissime settimane nella casa di Lorena e Turi. Era proprio come ce l'aspettavamo e rispettava perfettamente la tipologia di sistemazione che cercavamo per una vacanza in Sicilia (questo era già il terzo anno che andavamo ad Avola). Casa spaziosa, ben arredata e con tutto il necessario, compreso l'orto con l'ottima verdura e frutta, per trascorrere una vacanza piacevole. Ma la cosa più bella era senza dubbio il porticato esterno circondato da rigogliose piante e con un noce enorme che permetteva di avere ombra tutto il giorno. La casa si trova all'interno di un limoneto a ridosso dei monti Iblei, dove regnano la pace e la natura. Turi e Lorena sono stati molto cordiali e sempre disponibili con noi, abbiamo trascorso dei bei momenti assieme e una sera hanno cucinato per noi la loro tipica pizza siciliana. Avola dista a pochi chilometri dalla casa, offre tutte le comodità ed è un piacere passeggiarvi di sera in centro con tutta la gente in festa. E poi, oltre a ciò, ci sono altre città meravigliose che in poco tempo si possono raggiungere e visitare. E per ultimo, mare e paesaggi stupendi, da lasciarci il cuore ogni volta. Speriamo tanto di poterci ritornare prossimo anno. Ciao Lorena, ciao Turi!

idyllic setting with generous hosts
What a beautiful place this is! We loved our time at this villa. It is simple and spacious inside, yet well equipped and comfortable. The hosts meet you at convenient location, just an hour from the airport, and then lead you up little back roads into the hills. The house is on a beautiful well-cared for plot of land, tucked away from the town. Beautiful views across to nearby hills. Star-lit and candle-lit at night. The hosts treated us generously with little gifts of produce throughout our stay: limoncello, marmalade, local wine...but best of all, the abundance of whatever is currently ripe in their extensive garden that surrounds the house ( we feasted on figs, almonds, lemons, tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, plums...).The outdoor area is shady and comfortable: a gentle breeze and the outdoor shower kept us refreshed. We had a most wonderful evening when the host family showed us how to use the pizza oven- the pizza feast was spectacular and the conversation gave us a real taste of Sicilian life! Just 15 mins drive from Avola- lovely golden sands and warm waves - and Noto - historic and impressive. Both towns made great places to spend time, drink coffee, eat ice cream, shop for provisions and eat out (Noto especially). Maps and leaflets about the area are in good supply in the house. We had fab trips out: Cavagrande canyon, quieter beaches in the Valdicari reserve, busier near Noto/Avola, Syracusa and mount Etna (just over an hour to Catania and then we took a a day's tour) - yet returning each day to this peaceful home and garden felt like the real treasure in the day. The owner pops in usually around late afternoon to water the garden, always unobtrusively. Lorena has excellent English and was most helpful, yet without disturbing our holiday at all, always adding to it! (They live in nearby Avola) We travelled as a couple with a teenage daughter (There is no wifi but she happily relaxed in the garden and found a hotspot about 5 mins walk down the road when desperate!). The upper floor is open plan but is well designed to offer two clear bedroom spaces. The wooden staircase is like a loft ladder. We have always found beautiful places with owner's direct, but this was extra special. We would love to return to this area and this property. Thank you, Lorena and Tori, for looking after us so well. We loved meeting you and enjoyed our time immensely.

It is really a lovely house in the middle of the fruittrees!
We had a wonderful week there. We had the pleasure of the walnuttree with gave lots of shade. The owners were very kind and helpful. Every morning i could pick lemons and tomatoes in the garden One evening they made pizza for us in the woodoven!!! When you want to see people and shops and culture you can go to Noto and Siracuse. Really beautiful cities Thanks a lot for everything Lorena and Turi!
