Noisy... and they knew it
My wife and I booked this property as a getaway for our anniversary. We didn't want anything fancy, just a nice, relatively quiet spot from which to explore Asheville. The listing describes the spot as "an adorable apartment... right in the heart of vibrant, hip West Asheville," which it is. What was not in the listing is that the apartment is 15 feet from the main drag running through West Asheville. It is extremely noisy, to the point that the owner has a bowl of ear plugs and a white noise generator in the bedroom. This was not noted anywhere in the listing. Had it been we would not have chosen this property. We contacted VRBO upon arriving and realizing the situation, and when they could not get in contact with the owner to work out a solution we contacted the owner ourselves. The owner was less than helpful, almost to the point of rudeness. (It's hard to tell intent via text message, but the responses did not convey understanding or sympathy with our disappointment.) Instead of putting up with the noise we booked a last minute hotel elsewhere in the city. So far the only recompense we have received is the $65 cleaning fee.

Cozy little spot
Overall this was a nice place to stay for our weekend getaway. The unit was clean and had what you needed for towels and bedding. The king was a nice size for myself, my husband, and our daughter to sleep in (parents with toddlers iykyk). The kitchen was sufficiently stocked with utensils and things. It was a cute touch to have some kids plates and cups. Communication with the host was easy ☺️

Great Location
Perfect little spot for mine and my partner's weekend get away! Short walk to Ingles for a couple of groceries for dinner. Good sized kitchen and living room. Wish we had time to stay longer! The only thing that I didn't enjoy about my stay was my own mistake. Which was that I neglected to use the provided non-slip shower mat that was rolled up neatly beside the shower, so I slipped and fell out of the bath. Very slick tub! (My boyfriend thought it was hilarious) Otherwise, checked all the boxes we needed it to. Definitely recommend!

The place was huge, and everything was as listed. Great that it’s walking distance to bars and restaurants (10-15 min walk). Clean, convenient, and reasonable priced. Highly recommended!

Not Worth the $$
This property was fine. The location is fine. The property was clean, and the communication with the host was excellent. That's where the positive comments end. While the price of the apartment was fine, when you add the host fees, the VRBO fees, etc, the actual total nightly price was precisely double the advertised price of the lodging. We could have stayed in a pretty darn nice hotel for that, and we would have had coffee in the room (didn't have it here), body wash/shampoo in the shower (didn't have it here), the bottom sheet wouldn't have a hole in it (this one did), none of the towels would have had holes (one of them here did), etc. In summary, and it's not the fault of the location or the host, but VRBO has priced itself out of the market, at least for me. It's just not worth the extra fees. Buyer beware, the price on the website doesn't come close to describing the total cost.

West Asheville trip
This is the 2nd time we have rented at the Walkable West Asheville Abode. We love the location and the place. It is super cute and comfortable. Both times the property was very clean and had plenty of towels, extra blankets, pillows, etc. When I reached out to Caitlin to ask a question, she responded within minutes. Highly recommend this prooerty. We will be back.

Anniversary trip!
My bf and I came to Asheville for our anniversary. This property was very cute and convenient to everything. The owner let us check in early because we got there early. She was very helpful with setting a key for us just in case the door didn’t work. We went to the sunny point for brunch and went out in west Asheville! Definitely will be back to this property!

Great, until it wasn't
The Good: Clean, great communication with hosts, easy parking, walkable to lots of restaurants, coffee, etc, comfy bed and furnishings, great yard for hanging out + dog. The Bad: The noise. Street noise was easy to dampen with the white-noise machine, but the noise from people in another unit was awful. Apparently, four children + two adults were staying next/above us, and good God they were maniacs. Due to the thin walls/ceilings, our bed/wall shook with every jump and stomp. It was impossible to sleep until they finally passed out (12:30/1 a.m.). Our host was responsive to our complaints and tried to settle our neighbors, with no luck. Even people speaking at a normal level and walking up the stairs at a normal pace were impossible to ignore. Other quirks that are not deal breakers, but good to know: the kitchen floor has weak spots, and the bathtub is super slow to drain. The location is superb.

Nice Stay in West Asheville
This was a clean and cozy property. Check in and check out were easy. Walking distance to good restaurants and a cool place called Orbit DVD. Some street noise at night, but that’s to be expected in such a walkable location.

We had an excellent experience at this Asheville property. It is centrally located in West Asheville and is within walking distance of several very good restaurants. The property is comfortable and easy to relax in. Highly recommended!

Wonderful stay!
Caitlin’s place was perfect for our Asheville getaway. The location was amazing, we loved being able to walk to restaurants and shops! The house had everything we needed and check-in/check-out was seamless. Two small things to keep in mind: the walls between units are thin so you will hear people in the unit next door and the kitchen floors felt a little unstable in spots. But those aside, it’s a wonderful place to stay!

Cute, but needs some updating
We enjoyed our stay, but it wasn't perfect. It is in a relatively nice area, although the street is loud. The kitchen floor has areas that are sinking in and we didn't feel we could eat at the kitchen table because of the floor. The bed was very comfortable. The biggest drawback was that the walls/ceiling were thin and we could clearly hear another group. The people above our bedroom came in at 2:30 in the morning and were very loud. It was obvious they were a group and had been out partying. Eventually they quieted down. It is a typical older place with things being dated so as long as you go in knowing that, you won't be surprised.
