« Village pub in the lovely village of Askham. Comfortable room, really good breakfast and brilliantly positioned to walk straight out into the fells around Ullswater. »

« The bedroom has a very comfy bed with lovely views. The restaurant wasn’t so good, tables were sticky and not clean at all. Breakfast was chaos, bread wasn’t there had to ask for it to be stocked up. There were no plates for toast, the only ones we saw were all dirty. The waiter didn’t know what muesli was. »

« The reason I haven’t scored 5 is that Expedia sold us a room that had issues with noise / cooking smells as it’s above the kitchen and is noisey and smelly when the staff are cooking. We stayed in a room named Helvellyn and Expedia didn’t state any issues with any rooms. If we had booked direct with the queens head it details the room helvellyn as having issues with noise etc due to it’s proximity to the kitchen. I think Expedia have been misleading not detailing the facts about that particular...

« A classic 18 century coaching in with Ultra modern facilities and Michelin level food the staff are really helpful and can’t do too much for us helping us tune our TV to ensure that we had ability to watch the World Cup games. The food is a different level to coaching and could be a Michelin star restaurant the court outstanding and the quantity very generous. I would highly recommend this coaching in the Brown horse for either stay or a meal either way you’ll enjoy yourself. I’ll probably keep...
