Well padded at the moose

Very Difficult Stay
My friends and I came to Anchorage to celebrate my birthday in the beautiful Alaskan outdoors! The check-in process was not set up when we arrived even an hour and a half hour(5:30pm) the checkin time(4pm). The property manager had to come upstairs to let us in. When inside we realized the “2 full beds” in bedroom 5 were not both truly bed size. One folded out into a full bed, but had a broken strap so you had to force it into position, while the other folded out easily it was only the size of a small child’s bed. We were told to add a bench to the fold out to make it a full bed, and we were told “if we were brave” we could sleep in the swinging bed in the sunroom. We then had multiple troubles with the electric lock on the front door including in the middle of the night coming home from that days adventure. I had no luck reaching the host after calling many times, and finally had to resort to knocking on the downstairs neighbors(property manager) door. After about 15 minutes in 6° weather we were let in remotely and the property manager came and changed the batteries. The host compared this to having to go the lobby of a hotel to get another room key….Even with new batteries, in the morning we were still unable to lock the door from the outside using the electric lock. The stay was fine, but not as expected.

Hi Lindsey, I am sorry you had some difficulties with your stay. We try to make sure all of the beds are described accurately in our listing, so I apologize if there was any confusion about the pull out sofa-beds. Regarding the electronic door lock, please be assured this is a very unusual circumstance, as these locks are generally good for 5+ years and this one was only 1 year old. We later found it had a faulty internal cable. I am so glad that our property manager was able to get you back into the house so quickly! We replaced this lock with a brand new one, and everything is good now! If you come back in the future, we will be happy to give you a complimentary 1 night free as our way of making it right! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and had a great time! This was a Christmas present to our family to stay here and go downhill skiing. We had a blast, played games, used the hot tub, and watched movies. It was perfect for our family!

Christmas Family Retreat
This property is AMAZING!!! We stayed here for the Christmas weekend with our family. We were pleasantly surprised when we walked in and saw a beautifully decorated tree and stockings on the wall. The Moose Pad is clean, decorated with cute moose/bear items, has spacious bed rooms, comfortable beds, and LOTS of towels for the bathrooms and hot tub. The jetted tubs in each bathroom is a nice plus as well. The kitchen is AMAZING with lots of extras left by previous guests as well as PLENTY of Keurig pods and other essential items left by the owner to make our stay comfortable. The dining room table is very large which was perfect not only for our family to eat, but was also enough room for puzzles and games at the other end. The deck outside has strings of lights that are festive at night as you sit in the hot tub surrounded by a forest of trees covered in snow. It feels like a magical wonderland! Tony and John, the owner and maintenance man, were very communicative and helpful with any issue that arose, going above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. We would definitely recommend this vrbo!!!!

Alaskan vacation
The pictures and description in the ad were spot on. The house accommodated our family for the month of September. We had different family members come stay with us a week at a time. The beds were very comfortable and bedrooms were perfect sizes. The teenagers loved sleeping in the sun room. Excellent accommodations for the kitchen. Hot tub was perfect. The fire pit was also perfect. Well stocked bathrooms. John the caretaker was excellent to work with and very helpful in finding things to do in the area. Tony the owner was easy to get a hold of for any questions we might have had. He also rented us vehicles for the month and worked with us on check out date as far as letting us use one of the vehicles. We were on the edge of Anchorage and even saw the northern lights from the deck one morning.The property is in a great locations for access to amenities. We would highly recommend to anyone to rent this property.

Great location as a homebase for visiting. Spent time in Whitter, Seward, Anchorage, Willow. Was able to return most nights and cook dinner in the well stocked kitchen. Home has 3 bedroom (1K, 2Q), 4th room with Futon. Sleeps 6 adults comfortably, 8 with small futon. More people youll be in common areas. Kitchen was very well stocked, nice living space, beautiful upper deck and cover front porch. Easy parking, quiet street, wild birds heard every morning and night.

Just what we needed
This property had just what we needed as a family. Plenty of space and beds. The master bathroom’s tub and shower is great! We had a small hiccup with the hot tub but was able to quickly and easily troubleshoot the problem with the owner to get it fixed. Definitely would stay here again

This place looks nice in the pictures but in person it’s wayyy better! It was wonderful! Me and my boyfriend as well as my 3 other friends stayed here and it was so much fun! Great property but not for loud families or friends
We had a great stay at this property. Everything was spotless, the amenities were amazing, hot tub and outside deck area was great, the beds and pillows were comfortable. The one thing I would just let people know is it is an upstairs unit in a duplex. If you have loud family or friends I don’t recommend it since quiet hours for the property and neighborhood start at 10pm. There is also a decibel meter in the unit that they check. Just something to be aware of when you are deciding if you want to stay here with a large group if they are night owls! Had we known that I would have tried to find a single house for our group so we weren’t disturbing anyone. All in all great property though.

I stayed upstairs at the Moosepad with my family and my sister and her daughter. We had a great time. The place is huge and they have set it up really nicely. They have a couple of swings in the front and one inside the sunroom of the house. The beds are really comfortable. There was plenty of space for us. We could have fit more people.. The kitchen is so nice. I wish I had more time to cook there, although a few additional pots and pans would be helpful if we had done a big family meal. There were plenty of comfy towels and extra sheets, if needed. This is a perfect place for a family because it has so much for adults and kids to relax and play. We had four kids staying with us between the ages of 4-9. They loved being there. There were games in the closets, the swings, and they could play outside on the patio or on the grass. I think there are also some playgrounds not far away, but they were in driving distance and we never wound up going. The owner also has available supplies for little kids, a pack-n-play, booster seat, and a stool for the bathroom. We only used the stool, but I noticed they were prepared for little ones. The patio is incredible. It is huge and there are three different seating areas. There was supposed to be a hot tub, but I guess it did not arrive by the time of our stay. We did not complain because we really enjoyed what they did have setup outside. That would have put it over the top amazing. The only recommendation I would make is to put an umbrella outside because it got really hot. We still sat out there because it was so nice. I am going to miss having my coffee out on that patio. Tony, who runs the place, was incredibly responsive and helpful. I hope we get to stay here again the next time we visit Anchorage. It was wonderful and kid-friendly, which is so important on a family vacation.

Home Away from Home
We enjoyed our stay at the Moose Pad. The deck area is beautiful and was a great way to start our day. We needed bug spray to sit out in the evening but it was worth it. We were greeted by a moose two of the morning and one brought her babies along for the walk. The beds were very comfortable and we had everything we needed in the kitchen. This was one of the best places we’ve stayed and even better than the photos portray. All of the amenities from linens, appliances, cookware, utensils, grill, you name it… Everything was high-quality and geared towards comfort. Beds we’re comfortable, quality blackout curtains, patio/deck was awesome & the location puts you 15 to 20 minutes away from basically everything, very central. Lots of space in the yard outback as well. The kids loved it, if we ever go back we would stay again!

A one night special 50th anniversary dinner with family, it was wonderful!!
We wish we could have stayed longer, but happy for the time we had to together there. The enormous deck was great for family anniversary/reunion pictures! Tony was very easy to work with and has thought of everything!
