Summary:
Our home on South Bonham is a comfortable, cozy family stay sized for smaller groups. Three bedrooms sleep 6 across 4 beds, with a TV in the primary, a fully stocked kitchen, a backyard fire pit for the evening wind down, and a quiet park within walking distance. Indoor fireplace for cooler Panhandle nights, board games, children's books and toys, and the kind of layout that works for a young family, a couple traveling with one set of grandparents, or a small reunion. Family and kid friendly.
The Space:
Our home on South Bonham is one of our smaller family homes, and it is the one we recommend when a small family wants a cozy, well stocked house instead of a sprawling reunion property. Three bedrooms sleep up to 6 guests across 4 beds, with a TV in the primary bedroom and the rest of the home set up for easy family evenings.
The primary bedroom has a TV of its own, which is rare and useful for the parent who wants to put on a show after the kids are in bed. The other bedrooms are set up comfortably with bed linens, hangers, and room for the rest of the family to spread out.
The living room is filled with comfortable seating, plus a TV, Wi-Fi, an indoor fireplace for cooler nights, and board games stocked for the rainy day or the post dinner family hour. Children's books and toys are stocked for the trip with little ones, and the home is suitable for kids ages two to twelve.
The kitchen handles a real family meal. Full size stove, oven, dishwasher, microwave, blender, coffee maker, toaster, cookware, baking sheets, dishes and silverware, and wine glasses. The dining table seats your group for breakfast and dinner. There is a laptop friendly workspace if a parent needs to work through the trip.
Outside, you get a backyard fire pit, a garden and backyard, outdoor seating, a BBQ grill, and a patio for evenings outside. The home has a private entrance and driveway parking out front. A nearby park is walking distance, which is the small detail that makes the morning walk or the afternoon kid wear out easy.
Guest Access:
You have the whole 3 bedroom home, the patio, the backyard with the fire pit, and the driveway parking. Self check in is from 3pm with a smart lock code we send a couple of days before arrival, and check out is by 11am. Private entrance, no shared spaces. The walking distance park is open dawn to dusk.
The Neighborhood:
South Bonham sits in a calm, family friendly Amarillo neighborhood with a quiet park within walking distance, the kind of detail that makes morning walks easy with the kids or the dog. You have an easy drive to Palo Duro Canyon State Park for the classic family day, and downtown Amarillo and the Civic Center are a short run for shows, dinner, or coffee. Westgate Mall is close for shopping, and the Big Texan Steak Ranch is a fun first night dinner. The Don Harrington Discovery Center, the Amarillo Botanical Gardens, and Wonderland Park are solid stops for families with younger kids.
Getting Around:
Amarillo runs on cars and this home is set up for it. Driveway parking out front holds the family vehicle, with free street parking for the second car. Highway access is easy from this side of town. Rental cars and rideshare both work from Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport.
Other Things to Note:
This is a non smoking home, no parties, no events. The home is equipped with smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, a fire extinguisher, and a first aid kit. The indoor fireplace is decorative only, please do not light it. The backyard fire pit is safe to use, please extinguish fully before bed.
