I wasn't able to stay at the Hampton Inn, even though my room was paid for days in advance and confirmed earlier that day. The hotel had some type of "water damage" and miraculously my room was the only one affected and it just so happened I was the last guest to check in for the night and the hotel was sold out. And this was after calling ahead and confirming my room and informing them that we would be super late getting there. At arrival, all I was given was a :sorry for your bad luck" by the poor 3rd shift person who had to deal with me. Wasn't her fault that Management or other employees left her holding the bag.
The extra peculiar part, later that night I went to the hotel website after I had to find different accommodations. It wasn't showing "sold out". This little town has few options at 12 am. I read other Google reviews complaining about overbooking the hotel.
