A place of fleeting beauty and living in the moment, detached from the bothers of life.

A two-bedroom property set beside Willunga Creek on the Fleurieu Peninsula and a short walk from the ocean. Designed for solo travellers and couples. The kitchen is fully equipped for real cooking, the living room fills with natural light, and the outdoor kitchen garden changes quietly with the seasons.

Nothing at Ukiyo House is accidental — and some of it is excessive in the best possible way. French linen bedding, Ergoflex mattresses, and a pillow selection that got slightly out of hand. Woollen blankets from Waverley Mills. A rainhead shower with a water blade, plus an outdoor shower with hot water for good measure.

The gin bar is stocked with Never Never, tonic, and garnishes sourced from the Fleurieu. Riedel glassware. Koi knives. A Nespresso machine, gourmet teas and handmade ceramic mugs. Prefer the house alcohol-free? Just ask.

Outside, a kayak, Finska, board games, puzzles and a beach cart ready to go and the ocean is around the corner.

Sleep
Two bedrooms with french linen bedding, wool and down quilts, woollen blankets from Waverley Mills. An Ergoflex mattress and a pillow selection that got slightly out of hand — medium and high, because one of the owners is a physio and couldn’t help themselves.

Wash
An integrated rainhead shower with water blade feature, a hand shower, and an outdoor shower with hot water for when you’ve come straight from the beach.

Drink
A gin bar stocked with Never Never, tonic water and garnishes sourced from the Fleurieu Peninsula. Riedel glassware. A Nespresso machine, gourmet teas and handmade ceramic mugs for the mornings. Prefer the house alcohol-free? Just ask.

Cook
Koi knives and a kitchen ready for cooking.

Freshen up
Hair dryer, clothes steamer and ironing board. Slippers.

Get Outside
A beach umbrella and cart for the ocean, Finska on the lawn, board games, puzzles and outdoor games.

HOUSE RULES
• 4 guests max + paying guests only permitted to stay overnight at the property
• No parties or events
• No smoking on whole of property or in Ukiyo House
• $100 cleaning fee deducted from bond if housekeepers find smoke butts on the property
• If use barbecue don`t forget to clean it
• Any loss or damage to guest property during the rental period is not the responsibility of the owners of Ukiyo House
• Only use supplied wood for house fire. If fire ashes get full, once they are cold, dispose of them into a plastic bag and put in bin. No dumping of ashes outside
• No use of fire pit in fire ban season
• No removal of firewood from property
