The Space:
Scrub Tiny House by Tiny Away sits in the town of McLaren Vale, South Australia. Our tiny home is nestled among olive groves and century-old vineyards, just 35 minutes from Adelaide. This charming farm stay offers a cozy retreat surrounded by South Australia’s iconic landscapes, coastal scenes, and delicious cuisines.
Wander around the must-see spots like Port Willunga and Port Noarlunga, and see diverse marine life. Go for wine hopping at the McLaren Vale region’s 80 cellar doors and world-class wineries, making it the highlight of a relaxing stay at our holiday homes.
A cozy 139-square-foot tiny home with easy access to water, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities. These amenities include an eco-friendly cassette toilet with a removable waste holding tank, hand basin, and gas-heated shower.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you're booking for a group, we also have a second tiny home, "Pedlar Creek Tiny House by Tiny Away," available with 24 hours' notice in advance.
Guest Access:
Guests can access the tiny home and the surrounding areas. Guests may enter from Carissa Road down a rubble track.
ADVISORY:
- Gates need to be left as they were found.
- Due to the nature of the property, please expect potential noise
- Please expect free-roaming farm animals and abundant wildlife on the property
Preorders are available with 24 hrs prior notice:
- E-bikes for rent are $50 per bike per day.
- Firewood is available for $20 for a barrow load.
The Neighborhood:
Scrub Tiny House by Tiny Away is located in McLaren Vale, within the Fleurieu Peninsula. Our farm stay is the perfect hideaway, surrounded by an ancient olive grove and overlooking a century-old vineyard.
Just 48 minutes from Adelaide, you can take in the stunning ocean views at Hallett Cove Boardwalk. For beach lovers, Port Willunga offers its golden cliffs and white sands, while Port Noarlunga offers red sandstone views and fun watersports.
Take a stroll through nature at Wittunga Botanic Garden or Glenthorne National Park. Visit the McLaren Vale region’s renowned world-class wineries and over 80 cellar doors. Grab fresh local produce at Willunga Farmers Market every Saturday. Explore the Fleurieu Peninsula’s stunning coastline and pristine beaches.
Getting Around:
By car:
- Just 35 km from the Adelaide CBD, Kingsgate Tiny Houses can be reached in approximately 35 minutes by car outside of peak traffic times.
- Both 2WD and 4WD vehicles can easily access the property.
By public transport:
- Uber and taxi services offer convenient options for reaching Kingsgate from the CBD.
- There is a bus service available from the Adelaide CBD, providing a straightforward route for those preferring public transportation.
Other Things to Note:
- Weber Q and open-fire BBQ Grill are available.
- No unregistered guests or visitors are allowed.
- No smoking inside, except in designated areas.
- Expect limited connectivity as the tiny house is set in a rural locality
- We would like to advise guests that later check-outs will incur an additional charge
- Make sure to turn off the lights, AC, electronics, close windows and doors when leaving
- Mobile reception has good signals for Telstra, Optus, and Vodafone; The rest have no signal
- Pets are allowed by 24 hrs prior notice, and must be on leash at all times. The full policy will be sent before arrival.
Important note:
- Outdoor fire pits are not available during a total fire ban.
- For stays of 5 nights or more, an additional cleaning fee will be collected to help maintain the cassette toilet and ensure a clean and fresh experience for all guests.
