Description

Be transported back in time during this private tour to the World War II landing beaches in Normandy. Get a first hand look at sites where history was made with visits to Arromanches, Omaha Beach, and Pointe du Hoc, and listen to enlightening commentary from an expert guide.

Get picked up from your hotel in Paris and travel to Normandy, where you make your stop at Arromanches. An expert guide shows you to the remains of a Mulberry harbour that the Allies established immediately after D-Day in World War II. Learn of the structure's importance in supplying both troops and supplies to the war effort before continuing on towards Omaha Beach.

At Omaha Beach, visit the Normandy American Cemetery, which contains the remains of 9,387 American military personnel who lost their lives during the invasion of Normandy. As you drive along the beach, your guide shows you German bunkers and nests that remain.

Travel next to Pointe du Hoc, where specially trained rangers under Colonel James Earl Rudder scaled the cliff to capture and destroy a German battery. Your guide explains how their efforts were key to the success of D-Day as you survey the site. On the way back to Paris, you can opt to see the enormous Tapestry of Queen Mathilda in Bayeux before ending your day of learning.

Fred was an exceptional guide! I would highly recommend him... a native of Paris (born in Normandy) Fred was able to give us insight into the Normandy beaches and the region as a whole with characteristic France humor and hospitality. I’m so glad we booked this tour.

Celine was full of information, and personable. We were able to go to several locations, and see various perspectives of battle scenes. She even helped up look up the burial place of a family member.
