What you can expect

Lose yourself in the surreal world of Salvador Dalí with a private excursion to the hometown of the celebrated Spanish artist. Check out mind-bending works in Figueres' egg-adorned Dalí Theatre and Museum, and then cut a course for the coast to see where the artist lived in sunny, seaside Cadaqués.

Meet up with your guide in the heart of Barcelona and hop in a comfortable vehicle for the ride to Figueres, near the French border. Dalí was born in this provincial town, and it's where he chose to build his odd, eclectic, and utterly fascinating theater-museum. Wander through dream-like galleries filled with 3-dimensional collages, intriguing sculptures, and imaginative paintings from the artist's personal collection, and stand below the glass geodesic dome on the stage above Dalí's own final resting place.

Once you've experienced all of this surprising museum's clever displays, leave its bizarre universe behind and head for the seaside village of Cadaqués on the Costa Brava. Dalí spent childhood summers in this sparkling, whitewashed town, and lived most of his later life in nearby Port Lligat with his wife Gala. Stroll along the idyllic promenade beside the bay, dip your toes into the azure waters of the Mediterranean, or check out the seafood restaurants and tapas bars in the charming plazas before your return ride to Barcelona.
