The hotel didn’t quite meet our expectations. We didn’t get off to the best start as there was a storm so there was a power cut, which we know couldn’t be helped. There was no running water for the first evening which meant we couldn’t wash/shower before dinner, there was then still no hot water the next morning. With all the problems there was only one staff member trying to deal with it all covering the reception, bar, spa and restaurant. We left early on our last morning and there was no hot water then either. As it is a wine hotel we expected to be able to do some wine tasting here but that was not the case. The biggest disappointment was the restaurant, very limited options with no vegetarian options, the only option was removing the fish leaving a buckwheat salad. This was particularly disappointing as there is nowhere within walking distance but we did drive to the Taverna on the other nights, which had many options. The views are beautiful, maybe we would have felt differently if we hadn’t had the problems with the water, or even offered a glass of wine as an apology!
