The Space:

Flamingo Social Club is a revitalized two-bedroom, one-bathroom home designed by local interior designer Rae Rockwell Studio, and Field Magazine named it Best Designed Joshua Tree Vacation Rental. It has the feel of a boutique hotel, with photo-worthy moments inside and out: pink walls and purple trim outside, patterned wallpaper, a hand-painted wavy mural, an electric mid-century Malm fireplace and a bathroom of earthy tile, limewash walls and a rain shower. It sits on five private acres in Flamingo Heights, next to large tracts of open desert with no immediate neighbors. Outside, a hot tub beside a second Malm fireplace, a cowboy tub with its own daybed, a fire pit, a covered patio, a custom pink and yellow swing set and a desert boat dock carry the design into the landscape. It suits couples and small groups of up to four. Settle into a boat on the dock after dark and look up.

-Outdoor Amenities-

Start the morning in the six-person hot tub, with the outdoor propane Malm fireplace glowing orange beside it and the sun coming up over the open desert. By afternoon, stretch out on the yellow loungers against the pink walls, swing on the custom pink and yellow swing set, or cool off in the cowboy tub, which is not an in-ground pool and has a canopy daybed next to it.



Toward sunset, walk out to the boat dock, a platform for watching the sky change color over miles of open desert. Grill on the propane BBQ and eat on the covered patio as the string lights come on over the hot tub. After dark, gather at the fire pit, then go back to the boats and lie back to stargaze.



-Living Area-

The living room, kitchen and dining room flow together around an electric mid-century Malm fireplace. Sink into the low sofa, put a record on the record player or use the Bluetooth speaker, and settle in with board games and books. In the dining nook, a hand-painted wavy mural in pink and terracotta wraps the wall behind a small table for two.



-Kitchen and Dining-

The freshly remodeled kitchen has new appliances, including a stainless steel gas stove, with white hex tile, warm wood cabinets and open wood shelves. It is stocked with spices, olive oil, utensils and cookware. Brew a pot on the drip coffee machine or press a French press, with coffee, sugar, creamer and a variety of teas provided. Eat inside or on the covered patio, where the propane BBQ is.



-Bedrooms and Bathrooms-

Both bedrooms have a queen bed. The primary bedroom has a smart TV, a desk and a rattan bed against a patterned blush wall, and the second bedroom wraps its queen in retro wallpaper and mustard bedding. The bathroom has earthy tile, limewash walls, a pink vanity with a round mirror and a rain shower for rinsing off the day.



-Surrounding Area-

La Copine and the Giant Rock Meeting Room, among the best restaurants and bars in the area, are right nearby. Old Town Yucca Valley, the Copper Room at the historic Yucca Valley airport and the Integratron are close by too. Pioneertown, a 1940s western movie set turned working town, is an easy drive, and the West Entrance to Joshua Tree National Park is within reach for hiking, rock climbing and desert scenery.



Guest Access:

The entire house and property are yours to enjoy! Please note that a few supply closets stay locked to store rental supplies.



Please note that an exterior closet around the back of the property is locked and used for supplies.



The Neighborhood:

Flamingo Social Club is in Flamingo Heights, about 10 minutes from Old Town Yucca Valley. All homes in the area are on acreage, giving guests wide open space and privacy.

Other Things to Note:

-Cowboy Tub-

The pool at Flamingo Social Club is a cowboy tub, not an in-ground pool. It stays open all year, and in winter it makes a cold plunge. Bring your own ice if you'd like the water even colder!



-House-Specific Rules-

► Please avoid using the hot tub right after it has been serviced, while chemical levels are temporarily higher.



-Pool and Hot Tub Service-

The cowboy tub and hot tub are serviced Tuesdays and Fridays, approximately between 11am and 4pm. Please note that these times are estimates and may change slightly due to our technician's busy schedule. He will not approach the house but will go directly through to the backyard.



-Pet Policy-

We welcome your dogs! There is a $100 per dog per stay fee, limit of 2 dogs maximum. Please note on your reservation how many dogs you are bringing. There is an unauthorized pet fee of $500. Please use the provided dog sheets before allowing your dogs on any furniture. Cats and other pets are not allowed.

The desert landscape is teeming with wildlife and natural beauty, offering a unique connection to nature, but it's important to be mindful of the creatures and plants that call this area home. Guests may encounter a variety of wildlife during their stay, and while direct encounters with dangerous animals like coyotes, snakes, scorpions, bobcats, mountain lions and other desert dwellers are rare, it is important to be aware of your surroundings and to keep a safe distance from these creatures when spotted. Additionally, the desert is dotted with sharp cacti and other spiky plants. For your safety, always supervise children, pets, ESAs, and service animals while outdoors. Dogs should remain on a leash at all times and be watched closely while outdoors, as they can wander into potentially unsafe situations with wildlife or plants. By booking this property, guests acknowledge the potential for wildlife encounters and assume responsibility for their safety and the safety of their group. By respecting the local environment and staying aware, you can fully enjoy the magic of the desert.
