-Outdoor Amenities-
With 10 acres of open desert surrounding the two homes, there's plenty of space to enjoy the landscape without ever getting in the car. Start with a walk among the Joshua trees or head out for a hike directly from the property. The surrounding hills give the retreat a wonderful sense of openness, with wide views across Pipes Canyon.
Each home has its own six-person hot tub, allowing guests to spread out for a soak after a day of exploring. Both homes also have an 8-foot cowboy tub for cooling off during warmer weather. These are above-ground cowboy tubs rather than traditional swimming pools and are drained and unavailable from November through March.
The Homestead's covered hangar is a natural gathering place for the entire group. String lights hang overhead, and a long outdoor dining table seats 12, making it an inviting spot for shared dinners that stretch into the evening. At the Lookout, a second outdoor dining area seats six for smaller meals or a more relaxed afternoon.
Both homes also have propane BBQ grills and fire pits, giving everyone options for cooking and gathering outside. Between meals, set up a game of cornhole, challenge someone to horseshoes, or bring out giant Jenga. As the desert cools in the evening, gather around the fire pits or settle into the hot tubs beneath the night sky.
-Living Area-
Each home has an open living area connected to its kitchen and dining space, making it easy to spend time together while meals are being prepared or plans are being made.
The living rooms are comfortable, relaxed spaces for movie nights, conversation, or simply unwinding after a day outdoors. Across the two homes, you'll find 55-inch and 80-inch Samsung smart TVs with streaming apps, along with Bluetooth speakers, board games, and books.
Having two separate living rooms is especially useful for larger groups. One house can host a movie night while the other stays quiet for reading or conversation, and guests can enjoy their own space without being far from the rest of the group.
-Kitchen and Dining-
With a full kitchen in each home, preparing meals for a larger group becomes much more flexible. Both kitchens are stocked with cookware, utensils, dishes, spices, and olive oil, so guests can comfortably prepare anything from a quick breakfast to a homemade dinner.
Coffee drinkers will appreciate the drip coffee makers and French presses, with coffee, sugar, creamer, and a selection of teas provided.
Groups can prepare meals independently at either house or come together for a shared meal. The Homestead's covered hangar, with seating for 12 beneath the string lights, is especially inviting for evening dinners, while the Lookout's outdoor table for six provides another place to dine with canyon views.
-Bedrooms and Bathrooms-
Pipes Canyon Retreat has five bedrooms and four bathrooms across the two homes, with accommodations for up to 14 guests. The separate houses offer a convenient arrangement for families, couples, and friends who appreciate having their own spaces while traveling together.
-Pipes Canyon Homestead-
The Homestead has two bedrooms, with a comfortable mix of wood furnishings and relaxed desert-inspired details.
The primary bedroom features a king bed and a portable twin pull-out bed. The second bedroom has a queen bed.
There is also a couch and two additional portable twin pull-out beds, allowing guests to arrange sleeping accommodations to suit their group.
-Pipes Canyon Lookout-
The Lookout has three bedrooms, offering additional space for guests to settle in.
The primary bedroom has a king bed, while the second and third bedrooms each have a queen bed.
The home also includes two large couches and an additional portable twin pull-out bed.
All twin pull-out beds are portable and can be moved into the living areas as needed. Together, the two homes have four bathrooms, allowing guests to maintain separate morning and evening routines.
Whether you spend the day exploring Joshua Tree, sharing a meal under the hangar lights, or enjoying a quiet soak overlooking the canyon, Pipes Canyon Retreat gives your group the space to come together and the freedom to enjoy the desert at your own pace.
