    Ce moulin converti situé sur la rive sud de la rivière Ouse offre l’opportunité rare de séjourner à York, au bord de la rivière. Les vastes et confortables espaces de vie offrent une vue magnifique sur le fleuve et font de "rester dans" un plaisir à mesure que se déroule l’image changeante de la vie fluviale et urbaine. Joliment meublé et coordonné, il se trouve à quelques minutes à pied du centre de cette ville ancienne et dynamique. Jorvik - Woodsmill Quay à Queen’s Staithe se trouve au cœur de York; il a été construit au 19ème siècle et utilisé comme une scierie. York est un port de commerce important depuis l’époque romaine et la rivière Ouse est restée en marée jusqu’à la construction des écluses de Naburn au XVIIIe siècle. Queen’s Staithe a joué un rôle de premier plan dans le développement commercial de York et est toujours un quai opérationnel.

    En 2000, Jorvik - Woodsmill Quay a été converti en appartements de luxe offrant tous les sites et activités de York mondialement célèbres, à deux pas de la porte. Une base de vacances idéale pour explorer York et visiter le North Yorkshire Moors et les Dales. Les stations balnéaires de Filey, Scarborough et Whitby sont facilement accessibles en voiture. The rooms were clean, the location was perfect especially travelling with a kid, all the attractions and shops were nearby, the host was very nice and reachable. 100% recommend to anyone who is looking for a convenient location and great experience.

Excellent location, only a short walk to The Shambles, York Dungeons, York Minster and more. Great pubs and restaurants close by. Lovely views of the river from the spacious living room and kitchen. Large bedrooms, one of which has an en-suite shower room with another large bathroom with bath and overhead shower. Well equipped kitchen. Loads of storage. Everything you could want really. We loved it and plan to book again. 100% recommended.

We have stayed at Woodsmill Quay before in the Autumn of 2017, so knew what to expect for this Christmas break. Location is ideal for exploring the historic city of York. The apartment itself is very well equipped and very attractive with a stunning view of the river and the opposite bank. Since we stayed here last time, the bed has got a bit weary ( we both suffered back aches every morning), so the mattress might need replacing. We understand these holiday rentals get wear and tear, but it would be a good idea for someone with a screwdriver to go around and tighten things up a bit (the shower door, for example, had become very loose on its top hinge). Having said that, we thoroughly enjoyed our Christmas break and would certainly recommend this apartment.

Jorvik is situated with unrivalled river views so that the ever changing scene is right before your

Jorvik is situated with unrivalled river views so that the ever changing scene is right before your eyes. The property has a dedicated parking space and from arrival to departure we did not move the car. We were greeted when we arrived, and the property has everything you would need for comfort with well equipped kitchen and ample living space all with the river views. The bedroom to the rear was cosy and comfortable. The city is right on your doorstep. All of the main attractions within easy walking distance. We would definitely return to this property should we decide to visit York again.

We were in York for the last week of February last year and met the Beast from the East this year we were greeted with 20 degrees temperatures, We lunched alfresco everyday for the following week sampling a different riverside eaterie each day enjoying full sun and 20 degrees for the full week. Be scared be very very scared!!!
