A flight of stairs takes you up to the first floor where you have the living room, kitchen and two bedrooms. Fishergate Postern Tower is worth a visit; built between 1504 and 1507 it is a superb Grade I listed tower at the end of a section of York’s medieval walls. It is also just a couple of minutes from river walks and cruises and from the award winning Bishopthorpe Road known as the ‘Notting Hill of the north’ with all of its shops, delis, restaurants and welcoming atmosphere. York racecourse is just over a mile from the property.
