Winter Park Short Term Rental Registration NO. 008302
The Iron Horse building is located at the base of the mountain between Winter Park and Mary Jane ski areas. You can take the skyway down to the main base area for Winter Park. The gondola allows for quick and easy mountain access. Our guests can ski directly from the skyway to the condo for lunch or after the last chair from Mary Jane. On the 5th floor near the door out to the walkway is the ski locker room to store your gear so you do not have to take back and forth to the unit.

Enjoy the fully equipped kitchen, newer furniture/decor, cable TV and wireless internet by Xfinity and a gas fireplace. Breathe in the mountain air on the balcony with beautiful mountain views. This condo sleeps four with a queen Murphy bed and a full-size pull out couch. Enjoy on-site dining at the restaurant and bar (open during the ski season). Resort amenities include an indoor/outdoor pool, two built-in hot tubs and spa, garage parking, business center, ski storage room and rentals by Ski Depot (which we get you a discount at). Enjoy the fitness center with weight room and a variety of cardio machines. Locker rooms include a steam room & showers. Due to social distancing guidelines with COVID amenity availability is subject to change and not guaranteed at this time

Utilize, the free bus system (The Lift) to take you to the resort or into town for dinner, drinks and shopping. At the resort in the winter enjoy the Coca Cola tubing hill or ice skating at the base and in the summer enjoy the Trestle Bike Park, a round of putt putt, hiking the trails or going down the alpine slide. There are many summer festivals/events at the resort or take the free bus into town for free music at Hideaway Park or Copper Creek Square.

Short getaway

Stayed here with my teenage son. Location was decent but the property and unit was a little frustrating. In order to get to the unit, I had to enter an 11-digit passcode three times each time I entered the building. The unit itself was kinda clean but also a little hard to tell given the lighting was the worst of any rental I've ever stayed at. The garage door was broken during our stay so we had to compete for parking outside which was also a challenge. The Murphy bed in the unit wouldn't stay closed so there was limited floor space for moving about the small unit. I wouldn't stay here again.

Great little condo

Overall this is a great condo in a great ski-in/out location. We only had a few things to point out. For one, this building (Iron Horse) is basically unstaffed. I'm guessing this is something that happened with COVID, but there's no one working their big, beautiful check-in desk, no one on-site at all to answer questions or help in any way. The listing still speaks of an on-site restaurant but that's closed. I'm guessing the ski rental shop is probably closed, too. These are things that can updated/corrected in the listing in mere minutes, yet there they are still in the desicription. Also, the sole source of heat in the unit is the gas fireplace which is a little tricky to regulate. The room was either roasting or freezing until we found the sweet spot on the thermostat.

Great location, clean and cozy

This tiny space was just perfect for two of us. There was everything that we needed. It was clean, kitchen was relatively well stocked for cooking and the bathroom had surprisingly good counter space. There were plenty of spaces for clothes and hooks to hang up things as you came in. It was incredibly cold when we were visiting Winter Park and this was a great respite for lunch to warm up! Easy to get to an easy to get down to the gondola.

Great ski in/out

Very clean, had everything necessary for me as a single traveler. Ski in/out is perfect (although there may be some skating involved). Only thing lacking is a place to put your luggage when you check out but have plenty of time to keep skiing before leaving for a flight.

All in all, the property was great. Only complaints have to do with the kitchen amenities. The refrigerator is very load and runs basically non-stop. The coffee maker doesn't work well, and evaporated at least a full cup of the water out instead of brewing.

Ski in, ski out, the way to go

Great ski in/ski out from Mary Jane. Walk out onto trail to Gondola. First time at Iron Horse, the new hot tubs were awesome, just surprised about the Tues/Wed 8am-5pm hours. Game room is nice. Had a few hick-ups with delayed checking-in codes and neglected to let us know about a parking pass on any info. (the previous person took it with them) Condo is great, no other room noise with concrete building in C wing, clean, plenty of room for 2 people efficiency. Bathroom is beautiful, bed comfortable, kitchen appliances good except the fan runs constantly on the refrig. Would stay at Iron Horse again.

Ski in and out from Mary Jane side, but you have to take the slope down to the gondola, otherwise it’s an up hill walk. Ski down Mary Jane and end up at the condo. Nice place. *Washer and dryers on the second floor.

Nice and Quiet

Overall the space was good with nice amenities. Considering we stayed during the off-season, the facility was quiet and peaceful as only a handful of people were staying in the complex. There appeared to be a disconnect between management and the HOA which became a bit frustrating, but was eventually resolved.

Very nice room. Quite with a beautiful room. Very clean. My only issue was finding the parking garage and building numbers. Nothing was visibly marked, we went in to the office and no one was around. We couldn’t find our room easy either because we didn’t see anything that showed locations of room numbers. I think a diagram of the grounds in our confirmation email would have been nice. The room was very hot since we were on the top floor. Some kind of air circulation would have helped. Overall we were very pleased. Making the reservation and checking out was a breeze, very peaceful and very clean. I would recommend to a family member for a quick getaway

Great Studio

The location is good not great. Leaving in the morning is perfect, but getting home is somewhat limited based on what side of the mountain you are skiing. Having a full kitchen was a must and the overall cabin feel of the condo was great.

Location!

Iron Horse is our favorite place to stay at Winter Park. It is true ski in ski out- so convenient! The overall property is well maintained. This unit is well appointed and clean. Using the fireplace as your heater takes a bit of getting used to but all units are the same. The reason I gave 4 stars rather than 5 is this unit suffers from having a toilet that takes practice to flush (an odd concept but true!) and horrible pillows! Please buy a couple of good quality pillows like My Pillows! That would have made a big difference in our comfort! All in all, we would not hesitate to return.
