This rustic, two-bedroom, one-bathroom log cabin on Elk Lake is a perfect vacation spot for a small family or couple with a little over 500 sq feet. It is located off a quiet road in Williamsburg. Enjoy the sparkling blue hues and hard sandy bottom of this all-sports lake. The main space in the home is an open living room and dining area.

Outside, there is a cute little porch perfect for morning coffee and watching the sun come up. Talk about relaxing! The yard is spacious enough for kids to play and the dog to run. The main road to this house is peaceful enough for walking or riding a bike. There is also a dock and fire pit.

The house is near Turtle Creek Casino and Elk Rapids. Traverse City is an easy 15-minute drive.

One well-mannered dog is allowed, and owners must clean up after their pet.

We thought the property and the lake were beautiful, and we saw two eagles! Other than sleeping, we mostly stayed at a cabin across the water where our daughter was having her wedding. We would like to come back and actually enjoy all this cabin has to offer. Our only suggestion would be that you might have a dehumidifier, because the sheets felt damp when we got into bed and our clothes from the closet also felt damp. Otherwise, it was lovely. 3

We first started by getting a call there was a gas leak and no fireplace to be used.they did leave us electric heaters.i left a window open all night due to smelling gas still.the next night we still smelled gas and called to see what to do and was told to go ahead and turn off the gas to the cabin.the view is beautiful,the cabin was nice.yard was big and nice.tried reaching out to host after the trip but won’t answer.it was an ok first air b and b trip.i hope my next time trying an air b and b is better

Not a lot of hot water so plan accordingly. I would suggest installing an instant electric hat water heater for the whole cabin. 13k should be sufficient. It would also take up less space in the bathroom. Check in was easy. Very relaxing and beautiful views. We will be back.

Great location for an Elk Lake/Torch Lake vacation! Rustic cabin was as listed - cabin was clean and well-kept for an older cabin. The location on the lake is great and the provided mooring buoy was perfect for a pontoon. The shore entry is a rock wall, which could be a bit challenging for smaller children or people with mobility challenges. This cabin gives you great proximity to Elk Rapids and Torch Lake. Check-in/Check-out was easy and instructions from host were clear.

Could have been better

Wasn’t very friendly to boater. Dock wasn’t very stable. Had to go buy boat cushions to tie to posts to keep boat from getting beat up. It was rustic, floor shook when you walked across the living room. Waited 6 months to do some smallmouth fishing and ended up only catching one that was too small. Mayflies took over hatching and that’s all the fish were biting. Kind of a bust of a trip.

Great place to stay near Traverse City

Just 2 of us staying there so there was plenty of space, if there had been more it might have been a little cramped. This place has a really big yard with privacy fence on either side, perfect for our dog to run around in and go for a swim when he wanted to. It was perfect!

Backwooods Lake Spot

A bit more rustic/tired than anticipated but having Elk Lake a few strides away allows you to overlook a lot. The property is tucked away down a wooded dirt road and is in proximity to a collection of other cabins under construction/renovation. The lot is fenced on either side which made for a nice relatively contained space for our medium-sized dog. The cabin itself is almost certainly authentic as it is ostensibly made of lumber and mortar. The floors are unleveled in areas with a significant soft spot by the dining/kitchen pass through. The cabin definitely is minimalist and the hosts do a good job of listing the rules of the house. There were quite a few 'do not do this...'items listed as well as a number of things that were outlined as 'not provided'. There could be an argument made for there being a lack of hospitality. All in all, the cabin satisfied our weekend getaway assignment, though the pricing seems to be approaching a premium that is not provided. We see more and more 'hosts' advertising an enticing cost per night but then adding a 'host fee' that sees the nightly cost double or triple the bill. While there was a 'host fee' here, it was relatively reasonable thus the booking. Good weekend with a nice fire and wine next to a pretty lake but nothing to write home about. I am guessing that peak summer sees everyone gravitating to the lake and probably presents a different optic.

We loved how we could moor our boat at the property and went out each day to elk and torch lakes. The view was relaxing and perfect location to enjoy morning and evening time.

Great View & Quiet Location

You are paying for the view/location, the cabin is cozy (surprisingly the bed and pillows were great), but it is pretty dirty and outdated. Waking up and having your coffee while the sun is rising over the lake made it completely worth it though.

A Stay in the Cabin on Elk Lake

The view of the lake was so relaxing. The Cabin is definitely old. But it could have been cleaner. There were spider webs inside by the fireplace, dust and dirt under the furniture. And on the small porch the table and chairs were dirty as was the grill. Also when the 1st person would take a shower they ran out of hot water so the next person had to wait for it to regenerate. But we stayed there to be right on the lake and it was only for 3 nights so we managed. The land was great just the cabin needs updated.

Very disappointed

Property was not clean. Dust all over the gas fireplace front, crumbs and spots on the tables showing it had not been cleaned. Hair in shower drain and on shower floor. Several other things that showed the property had not been cleaned properly. Smoke detector chirped the whole weekend. Also, really wanted a working fireplace. Could not figure out how to turn it on, turns out the fireplace does not work. I did call and report these things to the rental company that night and they sent someone out the next morning, but not everything was taken care of. The chirping smoke detector was one of the things not taken care of. Really disappointed for as much as I paid for it and the "Cleaning Fee".

Elk Lake Warerfront

We picked this home with hope we could access the lake using the dock provided. Dock is more suitable for accessing the lake via ladder for swimming rather then for boat use. Several piles of boulders were in the path to access the dock. No mooring options were offered. The cabin is very rustic and ideal for use by a small family. Parking very limited and u most likely will not be able to drive in with a trailer in tow due to the narrow driveway. Suggest bringing a couple extra fans, multi plug electrical cord becuase there are limited outlets. Overall if your looking for a place to rest your head and don't want to stay in a hotel try this place it will provide enough to unplug and relax.

Great cabin for the less fancy!

Enjoyed this cabins location on the water and appreciated the age of the interior and how well it was maintained and kept to look its original age, such as light fixtures, windows and cupboards. This house does need a little attention with plumping and that is understandable with its age. Great little pad once that is updated!
