This historic 4-generation farm is recognized by the State of Texas as an official historic 100-Year Family Land Heritage Farm. Book this gem of a property before your dates disappear.

The property includes a full one-acre yard with countless colorful birds coming and going throughout each day. You will have the entire home all to yourself. And once you arrive, you will quickly understand why our guests keep coming back. The Brickyard House is a peaceful retreat. Whether you're coming with family, with friends or on your own, a wonderful getaway awaits you. This property is not a typical short-term rental. It truly is a home away from home, a place for you to recharge and rejuvenate at the end of each day, whether you are visiting Waco, West, or just staying on the farm.

And although The Brickyard House is a great place to unplug and unwind, you can also enjoy our free Wi-Fi network to stream your favorite shows on a 55" HD TV or to login and get some work done. When you're ready to venture out, you can grab kolaches in the historic Czech town of West (less than 5 minutes away) or experience the recently revitalized downtown district of Waco (only 15 minutes away). After an event at Baylor or after exploring the Magnolia Silos, escape the crowds and return to your country retreat. However you choose to spend your time, the memories you make here will last a lifetime.

Listen to the songs of cardinals and bluebirds, and if you're lucky, you might even see a roadrunner or two, or possibly even hear an occasional barn owl as the sun goes down! Excellent location. We are from the Philadelphia area visiting our daughter and her husband in Houston. This short trip gave us the opportunity to see Dallas, Waco and many small towns in between. Home was spotless and well equipped. Host provided all information required and was available should we have had any questions or issues...which we did not. I could go on and on but will leave my discussion with the recommendation that if you are looking for a get away weekend from close by major city or on a road trip this would be an ideal place to stay.  A taste of the country with access to anything you could need.

Beautiful house and property with everything just as described. Within an hour of arriving we heard an owl nearby and could see cardinals and blue jays in the yard. We enjoyed seeing the cows through the windows every morning and tossing them some of the provided treats over the fence. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets, and even a foggy morning provided good photo opportunities. Appreciated the coffee and tea provided in the kitchen. Quiet and peaceful weekend stay for our small family.

10 out of 10!!!! This little farmhouse is EXACTLY what we needed in the Waco area! The house cozy and comfortable, a far cry from generic hotel room in Waco. The gas fireplace was a comfort we indulged in while the whole family sat and read books around it. We now have a whole herd of cow friends, who visited every morning, and (with the help of some cow pellets graciously left from the owner), our daughter made friends with all of them, including the newborn calf. When we come to Waco, usually 2-3 times a year, we will definitely stay here again!!!

Loved the stay!!The home was clean, well situated to visit The Silos and go to a Baylor game. The best thing about the house was while it was close enough to Waco, it was far enough away from the traffic and congestion in the north part of town.. In addition, Clyde was the perfect host, making sure we had no problems getting into the house and checking with us to see if we had any questions or problems. If we were to visit Waco again, I would definitely stay again!!

Pride in ownership is clearly evident. The house was so comfortable with everything we could have needed. The trees surrounding the home are so beautiful. Waking to see the cows hanging out in the fields surrounding the home was so peaceful, yet so close to everything we were in town to do. Highly recommend!!

Just LOVE this property. So peaceful! Our visits are much too short. The house is always so clean and the serenity of the place makes for wonderful sleeping. Close enough to the freeway to make an easy trip to Waco & West. Definitely our #1 choice for accommodations. Clyde is super easy to deal with very personable and always responds quickly. I highly recommend this rental.

Wonderful!

This property was great for our family of 5. We used both beds and the pull-out sofa. We didn't get to spend as much time outside as we would have liked due to the rainy and stormy week we were there, but visited the cows when we could.:) Clyde was very responsive to all of our communication before, during and after our stay - even when we lost power at the house due to a thunderstorm! We didn't spend much time in West. It is an easy, quick trip into Waco. Our recommendations in Waco would be the Silos/Magnolia area (food trucks, shops, wiffle ball), Common Grounds Coffee, Baylor University campus, Fabled Bookstore, Bitty & Beau's, George's and Helberg Barbeque. Be sure to take a peek in all of the cabinets before heading to the grocery - this house had many general use items that we have had to purchase when staying at other rentals. We appreciated the detailed instructions in a binder for almost anything you could think of while staying. We would love to stay here on our next trip to Waco! Thanks again, Clyde, for everything!

The farm house was an excellent respite from the business of Waco yet just a short 12 minute ride to Baylor. The beds slept wonderfully!! It was so peaceful we enjoyed early mornings watching the cows and the sun come up as well as quiet evenings.We will return.

A Peaceful Farmhouse Stay

This farmhouse was a perfect peaceful country retreat! A tractor was displayed at the edge of the well-cared-for yard surrounded by beautiful oak trees. During morning coffee, baby calves, cardinals and bluebirds would appear. The farmhouse and property were very clean and it is evident that this was a once wonderful family home where great memories were made. Clyde anticipated my questions in advance by providing detailed instructions and he kept the lines of communication open in case I needed anything, but it was a perfect stay!

Perfect location for a Waco vacation!

We were in town for a Big 10 track meet at Baylor. The Farm was the perfect place to stay! It was an easy 15 min drive to the university, as well as any amenities we wanted or needed. However, when we were “home” we felt like we were miles from the big city. It was peaceful and beautiful. The house had everything we needed, was very clean, and comfortable. We spent quite a bit of time outside where we enjoyed the fire pit, cattle and large beautiful trees. We are planning to stay here again next time we are in the area and would highly recommend it to anyone.

Oh so peaceful!

The Brickyard House is easily one of our favorite VRBO rentals! When my husband and I decided to visit the West and Waco areas for a nice relaxing weekend to celebrate his birthday, we looked for a cozy cottage in a secluded area. The Brickyard House met all of our needs. It's literally surrounded by peaceful pastures and is located along a very quiet country road. The home was perfectly spotless, well-maintained and supplied with everything we needed and more. But being secluded didn't mean out of touch! Restaurants in West were less than a 10 minute drive. We enjoyed the Tipsy Lion. Everything in Waco was only about a half-hour away. We highly recommend George's Restaurant there! At night there were so many stars! And the king-sized bed was very comfortable. We both slept like babes. Even though we never needed anything, our host Clyde kept in touch and shared information about his lovely home and things to look for in the area. We will definitely look to stay there again in the future.

This will be the first place I look for availability anytime I stay in Waco. If it isn't available, I would seriously consider rescheduling my trip to when I can stay here. It was very easy to get to. Close enough to the freeway for ease of access, but far enough away that I couldn't hear the traffic when trying to sleep. The house was clean, comfortable, welcoming, cute, and I truly felt safe during my stay. The host, Clyde, was very attentive, easy to reach and I truly felt like he was available to help me with absolutely anything I would have needed. I would like to suggest getting 1 or 2 chairs to sit on outside. While the weather was cold (for Waco) during my stay, being from the north I enjoyed it and would have liked another place to sit than the picnic table. If there were chairs and I missed them, my apologies. All around, a great place to stay. I am going to suggest it to everyone I know looking for a place to bed down for a night or longer when in the Waco area. Thank you for offering this piece of your family to me. I enjoyed every minute spent on the property.

Best VRBO ever

This was by far one of the best places I’ve ever stayed at. The discrimination of this property is spot on in fact I believe it’s so much more. The communication was wonderful with the owner. From the moment you arrive it is clear to see this is a very cared and loved property. This isn’t a modge podge thrown together place. Nice appliances, furniture, linens, and dishes. Lastly COWS they are simply amazing and lovable I couldn’t wait to get up and see them in the morning and we came from Wisconsin where we can see cows all over something just hit differently here. Birds galore as well. The location was super quiet as well. I can not wait to come here again. I enjoyed it so much I wish I could have left them a thank you gift because our vacation was so perfect because of this place.

I can’t say enough about this property. It is beautiful inside and out, including the cows that come to visit in the mornings. Our “super host”,which is an understatement, was wonderful. Great location if you are looking for distance from Waco, but close enough to drive (or uber) in for the day (20 mins out). Clyde was fantastic at communicating and the house is spotless clean with cold water in the fridge waiting for your arrival. Beautiful and thoughtful updates! Highly recommend!
