« Middleham is a beautiful place to stay and to enjoy walking and a bit of wild swimming. The place oozes character. Richard III boasts age and character, so don’t stay here if you want modern. No breakfast included which we hadn’t checked, but there is a lovely tearoom but 2minutes walk away, racing stables close by so plenty of thoroughbreds trotting through the centre. I found the place delightful. »

« A warm welcome from all staff for us ( & our Dalmatian who was spoilt rotten!). Food superb and room clean & cosy. Easy beautiful walks on the doorstep. Perfect! »

« First time stating in hotel although haven to Dales many times before. Overall it’s fine but not fabulous. Food is good, tasty especially the breakfast . Personally preferred the bar food to Palmers. Service was variable but most staff were very attentive. Room was comfortable, especially the bed, great shower, large TV. No air con and noisy when window opened as our room ‘ Aysgarth’ was main road facing . Generally the carpets needed a good clean on the stairs and landing . Sadly weather was...

« A lovely hotel situated in a wonderful location. Staff very attentive, everything was 1st class and as for Peter Smith he played a blinder! We will be back. »

« This hotel though it has lovely rooms, but is not suitable for any one with mobility issues. The rooms are on the the second floor without lifts. Breakfast was good in quality and choice. Car parking was limited and the spacing tight. »

« Very friendly wellcoming. Lovely breakfest and diner. To much disturbed by a kitchen fan wich makes a lot of noice at night. Some night he wasn't turned off. He went on hole night. »

« Room was in good condition however it was a disabled room that was not advised on booking. There was an intermittent unpleasant smell coming from the bathroom. Seeing the disabled room I immediately requested a room change but here was not much enthusiasm as we had a 2 night stay and was told the hotel was full the following night so not much they could do and on the first night there were currently no other made up rooms. Overall the staff at the bar and in the restaurant and around the hotel...

« Room was OK but bathroom a little cramped at sink, plus shower difficult to sort out so the water was not red hot. Nice enough hotel breakfast freshly cooked and good. »

« Great single room with en suite shower. This is a pub/restaurant/hotel but no noise disturbance even at the weekend. Staff all friendly and happy to help. Sunday roast was huge and very tasty. Would defo stay again if in the area. »

« The hotel was out in the countryside with excellent views over the moors. It was very clean and well cared for. Car parking was good. The room size, bed size, etc was great. One small problem - the room lighting was not very bright during the night time. The food was excellent and the staff were great. It was also a great place for walkers with great access to the countryside. I would recommend it. »
