Glastonbury is packed full of eclectic stores as well as mainstream and its ancient Medieval Tor is well worth a visit, with views for miles and miles to be enjoyed. England’s smallest city of Wells has its beautiful cathedral, local markets and mix of independent and chain stores as well as numerous cafés and restaurants to enjoy. For some designer shopping head to the discount factory outlet of Clarks Village to find a bargain or 2. Wookey Hole caves are a short drive away as is the town of Cheddar with its famous Gorge and of course traditional Cheddar Cheese! You will never run out of fabulous places to explore while staying at Walnut Lodge!

Lovely cozy cottage that has everything you need.
Lovely cozy cottage that has everything you need. Set in a beautiful, tranquil location with views across to the Tor. Sitting out on the verandah with a cup of tea watching the sun set and listening to the birds sing in the garden was wonderful. Highly recommend for a relaxing getaway.

We really enjoyed meeting Tim who showed us around Walnut Lodge and he and Laura can be emmensly proud of their creation. The complementary bottles from a local brewery were much appreciated and unexpected. For people visiting Somerset for the first time it would be an ideal location for exploring Wells / Glastonbury / Cheddar Gorge & Wooky Hole etc. In our case we explored different attractions and each evening we appreciated getting back to Walnut Lodge, viewing Glastonbury Tor from seats on the veranda with a drink in hand and appreciating the birdsounds and immaculate garden & surroundings. Comfortable bed. Sadly we were unable to extend our stay due to family commitments.
