« Communication with the host was great from the start. He was even able to accommodate a slight date change for us. The house was very clean and you could tell they took pride in its appearance and upkeep. There were quite a few things they asked for guests to do to help keep it clean and bug free, like removing shoes before entering, setting the garbage outside for them to remove regularly, and doing food prep and consumption out on the lanai. « This is a beautiful place and quite clean. They also have a cache of masks, snorkel, chairs and other beach items which is helpful. We used this cottage as base camp to visit Volcanoes NP. It is a good option if you have a rental car. They don't call it the "Big Island" for nothing. There is a lot of windshield time when traveling the area. « This location was perfect for exploring the national park and the southern end of the island. You can be looking at the Kilauea caldron in less than 10 min from the house! The house is cozy, and beautifully built. We loved sitting out on the back porch and watching the family of pheasants peck around every morning. It was a bit musty smelling, and could use a deep clean but the price is pretty low for the location and all the space you get. »
