Our beach-front community is lively and welcoming, with visitors enjoying our beaches, boardwalk, Atlantic Avenue, restaurants and all the attractions and entertainment offered. The area has many parking garages and some private parking lots. There is also metered parking along many of the streets. While driving and walking are common, we recommend exploring by bicycle—just like the locals do. Please note that our guest bikes are available from April 1 - October 31.
We’re happy to assist during your stay. Upon check-in, you’ll receive our contact information, including a phone number and email address. If you reach out by phone or text, please include the full address of your rental cottage (Breezin A) so we can respond quickly and accurately.
We are located in the Old Beach Borough which was the original Town of Virginia Beach. Our neighborhood is a residential one that is located only 5-blocks from the Boardwalk. We are 6 blocks from the Virginia Beach Boardwalk and resort area. Any place in the resort area can be reached within a 15 minute bike ride from our property.
The now modern City of Virginia Beach grew up around our neighborhood. We now have a population of over 400,000 but not long ago the original City stretched 7 blocks west of the Boardwalk and extended from 1st Street to 40th Street. The area was known for its 2-to-3 story wooden Hotels, Boarding Houses and Cottages along the Boardwalk. This was a true summer resort area and at that time and it was said that `the day after Labor Day and until Memorial Day Weekend a cannon could be shot down the middle of Atlantic Avenue and it would not hit a person.
Our neighborhood has obviously evolved over the past 40-years. The Boardwalk area is now graced with many 10-to-20 story hotels and apartment hi-rises which has attracted many people as year-round residents. Marriott, Embassy Suites, Hilton brands now grace our area. There are numerous eateries from humble ones to fine dining experiences found at the Historic Cavalier Hotel. Shopping is abundant. In order to attract tourists the City hosts a number of events along our Boardwalk on almost a daily basis. There are large fireworks displays every Sunday and Wednesday, live entertainment at several stages in addition to the live entertainment provided by restaurants and bars. There are massive festivals (Neptune Festival) and art shows (Virginia Beach Art Festival), the Nationally recognized Shamrock Marathon, Sand Soccer, Competitive Beach Volley Ball, Deep Sea Charters, and everything else imaginable. There is also False Cape Park which is a beautiful State Park that is adjacent to the Chesapeake Bay and its estuaries. At Fort Story which is at 89th Street, there are historic light houses there (one was built in 1792 and the other was constructed in 1881). Near this site is where the first permanent settlers landed in the New World before sailing up the James River to Jamestown.
History, great food, world class entertainment, fireworks, festivals, first class accommodations, our neighborhood has it all. Welcome to the Virginia Beach Resort Area!!!
We have 2 vacation rentals on the property and 2 driveways. At check-in each rental will be assigned a driveway spot. We can only accommodate 1 parking spot per driveway and when available we can offer our registered guests a driveway spot for a second car but check with us before you bring a second car as it is likely that we will not be able to accommodate it.. If additional parking is needed for our registered guests please let us know when making the reservation. We will accommodate your needs either in one of the driveways or on the street with a parking permit. We can only accommodate parking for our registered guests but please do not just show up with a second car without first receiving authorization from us
Street parking is available for our registered guest. We must register the car with the City for a temporary parking permit that is good for 72 hours. Provide us with the following information, car make and model, color, tag number and state that issue tags and we will secure a permit for you.
Our beachfront community is a popular one. It is busy with visitors enjoying our beaches, the Boardwalk, restaurants, fishing (charted and surf casting) and all of the entertainment offered. The area has many parking garages and some private parking lots. There is also metered parking along many of the streets. Some of our guests prefer driving or walking. As a life-long resident of the area, I recommend using a bicycle. Its how locals get around the area. We have provided 2 free bikes for each of the vacation rentals. Its fast, easy, parking is never a problem, there are no parking fees or parking tickets to pay for, and best of all the exercise is great. Please feel free to bring bikes with you but be certain to also bring locks for them too. While on the property your bikes can be stored in our gated side-yard.
