About this space
Ultimate Winter Dream fireplace! The cottage is situated on a small family estate, in beautiful forest, just outside a village (at just 600m ), in the largest nature area of The Netherlands, with ancient woods and vast fields of heather on its doorstep. The house is spacious but also cosy and comfortable, with a luxury bathroom, complete kitchen, a woodburner stove and all the other comfort you need. Wolves can sometimes be heard howling, if you're lucky.
The space
The cottage has been built in a style typical for the area and is tastefully decorated in a Dutch/English style. The place is perfectly suitable for up to 5 guests, but also great to stay in as just a couple. Nevertheless, the cottage is also cosy when you are with just 2 people. There are 2 double bedrooms with box spring beds of 200*160cm and a sofa bed on the mezzanine of 140*200cm. The kitchen has all amenities, including a gas cooker with oven, large fridge, dishwasher and washer/dryer, a Nespresso coffeemaker and a filter coffee machine. Entertainment-wise it offers a wide screen TV, DVD and WIFI. The luxury bathroom has a bath, separate shower and separate toilet. Central heating, double glazing and a wood-burner make the cottage perfectly suitable in winter. Firewood is not included in the rental price, but you can buy wood from us or in the village

There are 2 bedrooms in the house, and an extra bed (foldout) on the mezzanine over the living room. Per 2 staying guest (excl babies) indicated when booking one bedroom will be prepared. For 5 staying guests also the third bed on the mezzanine will be prepared. Should you be staying with less guests, but would still like to use 2 or 3 beds, please inform us prior to arrival, so we can prepare all the requested beds for you (€15 per extra bed).

Your stay includes bath towels (large/small), bed linen, kitchen towels, shampoo/showergel, and toilet paper, paper towels, and dishwasher tablets for the first days of your stay.

A dog is welcome at a surcharge of €35 for 1 dog or €70 for 2 dogs (please discuss prior to booking in case you're planning to bring more than 1 dog).
The costs will not be calculated when filling in you're bringing a dog but you'll be asked for payment during or after your stay.
Please read our house rules with regards to dogs and let us know that you are bringing a dog. We don't accept cats. Also, please be aware dogs need to be on the leash when outside on the property because of the free roaming chickens.

A baby(travel)cot and high chair are are available (€15 per stay for the bed with or without high chair). Please indicated when making a reservation, we have only a limited number of babycots. Please bring your own sheets and blankets etc for the babycot.

Guest access
The cottage is set in its own sunny private corner near the entrance of the estate and offers a lot of privacy. From the grounds you can walk directly into the forest or have direct access to the road into the village. The forest stretches for miles and miles. On the grounds there is another holiday cottage, a keepers cottage, several rustic cottages and stables and a country house where the owners live. All houses are set in such a way that they have complete privacy. Children can play on your own land surrounding the cottage, or in the forest at the back of the main house. You will share the land, which is completely fenced off to keep deer and wild boar out, with some animals. Apart from wildlife, you will meet our friendly dog Jasper, our 2 donkeys Sam and Frodo who love a cuddle, and Thomas the cat

We love well behaved dogs and Jasper is always excited to meet new friends who he will leave alone if they don't warm to him. Dogs are welcome for an additional fee of 45 euros per stay (or per week if you stay for a longer period). Should you wish to bring more than one dog, please contact us first. Please ask us for our dog policy if you wish. In short your dog should not damage property, it is not allowed on beds and furniture, it should not inconvenience other guests and dog mess must be picked up.

Children are more than welcome. The land around the houses is fenced off that you don't have to worry about them all the time. It can be a great experience for children to interact with the animals. They can help take care of the donkeys if they wish. Children and donkeys are usually a great match. There often seems to be this natural understanding and instant love. We have also had several children who arrived with a fear of dogs but ended up as best mates with our dog who roams the property and guards against strangers. Children can safely play around your cottage or in the woods behind the country house (outside the fenced off area), but not around the other houses. It is a part of the world where children still play outdoors.

Cleaning
If you stay for more than one week, we come and do a compulsory weekly cleaning of the cottage for 50 euros. This includes changing your bedding and towels.

Local tourist tax of €1,15 per person per night is not included in the price shown by AirBnB and can be paid on site during your stay.
