Ideal hotel if you’re looking for a home base to explore São Miguel. You’re about 15–20 minutes from Ponta Delgada’s city centre on foot, close to the main roads of the island, and there’s plenty of free parking around — very practical. It’s really not necessary to pay for the hotel’s parking. Downsides: • You must wear a swimming cap to use the pool and hot tub, which doesn’t feel like a 4‑star standard. • The breakfast buffet is good, but it’s exactly the same every day. After 4–5 days, we couldn’t eat there anymore 😅 • The hotel facilities need some attention: the hot tub and spa area smelled like mold, and the bathroom in our room was poorly ventilated, so nothing dried overnight. • The pool hours are quite restrictive (opening at 9:30 and closing at 21:00). • We saw a few cockroaches in the hotel, likely because the emergency exits were left open — so keep an eye on your luggage. Overall, a convenient base for exploring the island, but the hotel could improve several aspects to truly match a 4‑star experience.
