Located on Cool Street which is a popular walking street for Mentone along the Brow (mountain edge of Lookout Mountain) and ends at Brow Park. There are neighbors to the left and right of the home. Cool Breeze Cottage is a short walk to Downtown Mentone where there are local artisan shops and restaurants.

While the setting is rural, you’ll find that essentials are not far: the local general store handles grocery basics, and the few restaurants/cafés in town are within a short drive. The tradeoff is that evenings are peaceful, and the night skies are often brilliant with stars.

Mentone, Alabama brings people from all over the country and even the world to experience its unique and funky atmosphere. Mentone is known for DeSoto State Park and Falls, Wildflower Cafe (written in Southern Living for their Tomato Pie), Spring and Fall festivals, and local artisan shops.

We provide a limited supply of bathroom essentials, including two rolls of toilet paper, guest, shampoo, conditioner, and soap. Please plan accordingly for your stay and feel free to bring any additional items you may need.
► This is a pet-friendly property! We’re glad if you were able to bring your pet along, but please note we have a few additional rules:
- Please note that a $50 Pet fee will be applied per stay.
- We are unable to host cats and breeds of dogs deemed aggressive, per our insurance policy.
- No more than 2 dogs, no larger than 60 pounds. If your pet is heavier than 60 pounds, it will require pre-approval from our team.
- Pets are not allowed on furniture & please clean up after your pets.
- Do not leave your pet home alone unless crated.

1. Upon booking, you will receive a rental agreement/check-in form that you are required to sign and return before your arrival.

2. Guests acknowledge that they will keep their noise level to a minimum after 10:00 pm; sound will travel through the walls if too loud.

3. No parties or events allowed.

4. Guest must provide us with a valid working phone number & guests listed on the reservation must report to us within 2 hours from the time of arrival if anything in regards to cleanliness does not meet their standards so we can help address the situation as soon as possible.

5. NO SMOKING or use of fire permitted in the rental; guest acknowledges that no `smoking` includes the use of vape pens and marijuana and `use of fire` includes the lighting of candles, incense, or sage. There will be a $200 charge per day of reservation if this rule is not followed.

6. There can not be any more than the allowed number of guests in or on the property at any one time, violation could lead to the immediate removal of all guests without a refund.

7. Late check-out fee of $50 (if not authorized) applies for check-outs after 10:00 am. We`re sorry we have to charge this but we pay our housekeepers based on the agreed-upon checkout time and if they are unable to clean we still have to pay them.

8. As part of our commitment to maintaining a clean and comfortable environment for all guests, we require a midterm cleaning for reservations lasting 30 days or longer. The midterm cleaning will take place on the 15th day of your reservation. This cleaning is mandatory and is designed to ensure the continued cleanliness and hygiene of the property.

9. The cleaning fee for the mandatory mid-stay clean will be requested via the resolution center.

10. This is a pet-friendly property! We’re glad if you were able to bring your pet along, but please note we have a few additional rules:

• Please note that a $50 Pet fee will be applied per stay.
• We are unable to host cats and breeds of dogs deemed aggressive, per our insurance policy.
• No more than TWO (2) animals, no larger than 60 pounds. If your pet is heavier than 60 pounds, it will require pre-approval from our team.
• Pets are not allowed on furniture & please clean up after your pets.
• Do not leave your pet home alone unless crated (doggy doo-doo bags are provided).

11. Excessively dirty units will incur an additional cleaning fee and will be evidenced with photos.

12. For your security and protection the property is equipped with an exterior camera.

13. Guests who fail to arrive for their reservation, for any reason, will be considered no-shows. No-shows are non-refundable, and no credits, reschedules, or exceptions will be provided under any circumstances.

14. Please remember to take all of your belongings with you upon checkout. Any items left behind will incur a $50 Mailing fee (separate from the cost of postage). We will do our best to send your items back to you within a week.

15. If not following any of our rules forces us to refund or discount an upcoming or existing guest you will be liable for the costs.

16. If you were a previous/current guest and did not respect our house rules and our property, we have the right to decline your next reservation.

We never heard from the hosts as to how to check in. I tried to call and text them many times on our trip there and the night before. Finally , I got someone from VRBO to give us the door code about an hour before we arrived. Very stressful! The weather was bad and we weren’t sure we had a place to stay. The cabin was clean and lovely! We ate sandwiches in the room because restaurants were closed until Thursday and we got there on Sunday. All views of the brow were covered in fog. No one could help that, though. I don’t think we will go back and it was our fourth visit to the area. Not a good experience. It took a long time to get the tv working. The instructions left were not helpful. We left a message to have someone call us about the tv but heard from no one .

This house is charming, has a wonderful deck and view and was spotless, and the beds were very comfortable. The downside was that we checked in on Thursday evening and didn’t get a WiFi password until the next afternoon. I had to contact the rental company who in turn had to search for it. It was not written anywhere in the house. The second issue were the instructions to operate the TVs and DVD player….they were terrible and we basically had to figure it out on our own with 3 different remotes. It took a long time to work it out. Lastly, we were told ahead of time that we would have a regular coffee pot so we purchased coffee and filters. However, when we arrived we discovered a Keurig…..we then had to go purchase pods. On the morning of day 2, the Keurig wouldn’t work because it needed to be descaled which we were unable to do. Had to go out for coffee. Overall, our weekend was nice but the above-mentioned issues were a problem. I’m pretty sure I won’t rent this cabin again.

Perfect for a get away weekend especially for a couple. Has everything you need for a perfect get away. The view is on the brow and over looks the valley. the sound of the train going through the valley is so comforting. And a super comfy king size bed. Close enough to walk to brow park or to the cute shop and the Wild flower cafe.

The property was great. The view was amazing. The pictures online were great, but the actual property far exceeded the pictures. This was one of the cleanest places we have ever stayed. We couldn't have been more pleased.
