Slow down time and rejuvenate your life at Deer Lake Wilderness Retreat. With just four sites spread out across 10 acres, each one has its own private outdoor space making it a perfect place to disconnect from the daily grind and reconnect with each other.

GETTING BACK TO THE BASICS
When you arrive at the Cozy Cabin, the first thing you’ll notice is the woodland views surrounding you on all sides beckoning you in. Soak up the ambiance of the living room, play a round of cards by firelight, make a tasty meal in the quaint kitchenette, then escape to the loft where you’ll find a luxurious queen sized bed and a reading corner with a comfy bean bag chair.

ENJOY NATURE’S EMBRACE
Discover the rejuvenation that comes from forest bathing—immersing yourself in the sounds and smells of nature. Explore our forest or the many other hiking trails in the Almaguin Highlands, and from May to October your stay comes with a FREE PROVINCIAL PARK PASS to nearby Mikisew which has clean quiet beaches, great hiking trails, and a frisbee golf course. End your day mesmerized by "nature’s TV" as the flames from your campfire dance under the starry night sky.

AN OUTDOOR PLAYLAND
Nestled in the hills and lakes of cottage country, the Almaguin Highlands is a four season outdoor playland. In the warmer weather enjoy water sports, hiking, biking, horseback riding, ATVing, or take a road trip to visit our quaint villages and artisan galleries. Winter brings snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling at our doorstep and dog sledding just 30 minutes away.

MAGIC AND MAIN STREET
We are a 20-minute drive from South River where you’ll find the Crystal Caves, the biggest mineral exhibit in Canada and the most magical crystal shop you will ever set foot inside guaranteed. Then head 10 minutes down the road to Sundridge where you’ll find a quaint main street featuring a cozy cafe, shops and restaurants.

GLAMOROUS CAMPING AT ITS FINEST
The Cozy Cabin is partially off-grid—it has electricity but no running water—and every effort is made to make it a comfortable experience for you. The kitchenette comes fully stocked for cooking including water, an air-fryer/toaster-oven, convection burner, fridge and BBQ. The brand new indoor loo features a camping toilet and there is a comfortable outhouse down the lane. There is a shared hot water shower and we have excellent cell phone reception.

PERFECT FOR MORE THAN ONE COUPLE OR FAMILIES
The Cozy Cabin is the ideal getaway for a couple, but can also sleep four when you use the pull out sofa bed in the living room.

PETS WELCOME
Share your glamping adventure with your fur baby for a $50 pet fee. In summer take your pooch to Mikisew Provincial Park, there you’ll find a dog beach where they can romp around and cool off.

$99 SUNDAYS
If you book the Cozy Cabin on a Friday and Saturday night, ask me how to add Sunday night for just $99.

My girlfriend and I had another amazing stay! This property has had a spiritual and uplifting impact on the both of us. There is something special about this place and you can definitely feel the positive energy. Sara is a fantastic host and cares tremendously about her guests. We will be back!

I enjoyed my time at the Cozy Cabin, it is well appointed glamping for sure. Sara was very helpful and very responsive to questions. Although this time i was on my own for much needed down time, would definitely consider coming back with more people to stay and stay in some of the other options available on the property.

Die HĂŒtte war nett eingerichtet, sauber und alles notwendige vorhanden. Der kleine Ofen war prima, da es dann doch abends kalt wurde. Prima, dass ein kleiner KĂŒhlschrank dabei ist und ausreichend Trinkwasser und Wasser fĂŒr Kochen und Abwasch ist vorhanden. Das Kochen auf dem BBQ ging super. Die Ankunft hatte etwas zweifeln lassen, weil das shet mit dem Holz etc und der Platz neben dem Parkplatz doch recht unordentlich wirken. Das outhouse mit heisser Dusche und den Trockentoiletten ist ok und nur wenige Schritte von der Cabin entfernt. Sitzplatz und Feuerplatz konnten gut genutzt werden. Es gab genug Holz! Das "Barnappartement" ist auch nett, mit weiterer Dusche und Waschbecken mit heißem Wasser und Mikrowelle, Geschirr, Esstisch, Sifa etc und SpĂŒle, um das Geschirr zu waschen und bei schlechtem Wetter auch dort zu sitzen. Die Einrichtungsidee ist nett mit ein paar schönen Details. Leider sind die WĂ€nde/Trockenausbau nicht verputzt, so wirkt es ein wenig wie noch nicht fertig. In der Scheune stehen ausrangierte Möbel etc, auch wirkt erstmal etwas unordentlich. Und man hört zeitweise die Fahrzeuge von der Straße, da wir aber in der Regel den schönen Mikisew Provincial Park, toll, das es einen Parkausweis dafĂŒr gibt!! und den Eagle Lake genossen haben war das kein Thema. An den Dearlake kann man leider nicht so einfach, nur ĂŒber die Pykeroad gelangt man zu einer kleinen Badestelle. AusflĂŒge in die Umgebung Richtung Parry Sound (Wanderwege suchen und finden!) und die 30000-Islandtour waren super. Die Leute vom Eagle Lake Shop ricjtig nett und die Kommunikation mit Sara unkompliziert und sehr freundlich. Wir haben die Zeit genossen, wĂŒrden nĂ€chstes Mal aber doch einen Platz am Wasser bevorzugen.

My girlfriend and I had the most amazing getaway at this cabin. It was so cozy and comfortable! Just a few minute drive to the lake and we went swimming multiple times! Along our travels we seen a moose that we were able to pull over and watch for 5 or so minutes! I would 100% recommended to anyone looking for a very aesthetic cabin to stay in!

This review is for winter. Great place to get away from humanity. Very very quiet and well stocked with amenities (plates, etc). Best described as glamping. Very close to Mikisew Park. Good place for hiking and cross country skiing. If going in the winter consider bringing lots of water (pipes froze through no fault of the owner) and food. Knowing how to start a fire in a wood stove is critical, it is your heat source. Would return.
