The space
This house is a rare gem in Bali - off the beaten villa track... A place where one can really feel at home, as this luxurious villa is a real home of a real family, not the usual holiday rental. In 2021 and 2022 the stunning property was fully renovated in this postcard perfect art village of Ubud, using the finest materials, inspired by our family's extended travels across the world, to create our ultimate tropical dream villa, in perfect harmony with nature.

The 80sqm living room, the dining area along with the bar, plus the kitchen are really the heart of the villa where you will spend a lot of quality time with your loved ones, overlooking the garden, the infinity pool and the unforgetable view. Or you can retreat to one of the two oversized Master Bedrooms for total privacy and undisturbed sunset views from their terraces - and their bath tubs :-)

Our son's bedroom and one of the Master Bedrooms are connected by a lovely glass room (which can also serve as an office space) to make it convenient for families with small kids who don't want their children to walk through the garden in the night. This family friendly layout is quite rare in Bali. The children room also comes with its own bathroom with two sinks plus a pleasant tropical rainshower.

The two Master Bedrooms are totally independent in two different units on the two sides of the pool, with their own huge private terraces facing the dramatic Sayan Ridge, with their own bath tubs (also with fantastic views), tropical rainshowers and walk-in closets / dressing rooms (also airconditioned). The 100% natural amenities of Balinese luxury brand Sensatia are provided in all three bathrooms (shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, handwash and bath salt). High-quality Egyptian cotton bed linens and luxury curtains will take care of your sweet dreams. Our guests are having some of the best sleeps of their lives here at House of Lights, Ubud.

If you want you can make the living room totally enclosed by the beautiful french windows and doors, not losing the wonderful view but creating an even more intimate and homey ambiance for the evening. (It is also airconditioned.)

On our large Samsung smart TV ("The Frame") you can log in to your favourite streaming platform (Disney+, Netflix, etc. - our internet speed is up to 175 Mbps). Or you can just leave the TV on as a painting hanging on the wall, by choosing from dozens of digital masterpieces which will appear in "The Frame" - it is so much fun while your younger children might get an introduction to art history while staying here :-)

The kitchen is fully functional with a huge fridge, freezer, stove, oven, water dispenser, Nespresso coffee machine, milk frother, electric hand mixer, rice cooker, toaster and a Philips Pro Blender for your daily fresh vitamine intake. The kitchen can be completely closed off and air-conditioned if that is your preference, though we enjoy it open even more, serving drinks across the brass bar counter while cooking a nice meal - often with the help of our dear staff at the villa. As a guest you could also count on them as our home comes with daily housekeeping included in the rate. If you are happy with your hosts' outstanding service, a nice tip is highly appreciated and goes a long way here in Bali. Thank you!

The villa has its own private infinity pool overlooking the magnificent Sayan Ridge.
Other things to note
Our fully staffed villa is taken care of by our lovely house keeper, a gardener, a pool attendant and our driver. We kindly ask you to leave a nice tip for them if you are happy with their service.

Our driver can drive you around Ubud and take you for excursions in a Toyota 7-seater for an additional daily rate.

You can also rent our mountainbike for 20 usd per day to discover beautiful little villages and magnificent rice fields you would never reach by car and which are too far on foot. We love it...

Breakfast and some local dishes on site can be arranged for an additional fee, like one of our lovely staff's famous traditional Soto Ayam (it is an amazing rich chicken soup).

Massage, pedicure and manicure can also be arranged by our highly professional therapist whose service is absolutely outstanding, based on her availability.

Smoking is strictly prohibited inside, it is only permitted outside: in the garden and on the terraces.
