Welcome to Casa Sol, the perfect home base for the Tulum vacation of your dreams. Sitting right on the beach, the ocean is just outside your back door. Spend the afternoon lounging on the sand, napping in one of your hammocks, or playing in your private pool. If you want to explore, central Tulum is around 11 miles south.

Inside, you’ll find a an open layout and stylish, comfortable furnishings. The well-equipped, full kitchen makes meal prep easy, and there’s room for the whole group at mealtime between the indoor dining table and alfresco table on your patio. After a day in the sun, let the AC splits cool you down while you relax in the living room on the oversized sectional. Watch a bit of TV or use the free WiFi to post the day’s pics to social media. A restful night’s sleep awaits in any of the four bedrooms, including one in a separate casita with an en suite bath. Both upstairs bedrooms in the main house feature oceanfront balcony access as well. With so much room to spread out, an unbeatable oceanfront location, and style to spare, the only question left is how many extra days you’ll book at Casa Sol.

* Please take into consideration that the road to the property it’s not paved. A car is a must to visit the region and 4x4 is highly recommended during raining season (Jul - Nov)
* Bear in mind that this property has a maximum capacity of 12 Adults. Any extra person will result on a 50 USD fee per day per person and is subject to the property discretion, needs to be notified prior arrival.

Good but not for everyone

The photos are accurate. The neighborhood is safe and there are several hotels in short walking distance to eat at. Beds are VERY firm. There is zero house keeping during the visit and no access to cleaning supplies like a broom, if you'd like to tidy up. No Laundry services available. Pack accordingly. We had to use the same bath towel all 4 days and we showered a lot due to the heat. No floor bath mats provided, so we had to endure dirty wet floors the whole time. It is common to have to throw away toilet paper, instead of flushing, which is fine but they didn't provide extra garbage liners. Once it was full we had to purchase more, same with kitchen garbage. We had a party of 6, so things filled up quick. We were only a lotted 4 rolls of TP and 1 roll paper towels and no kitchen towels. Once those run out you also have to provide your own. BEWARE of this if you are thinking to book here. YOU MUST have a car so you can drive 25-35 min to a store. The caretakers did help us with WiFi - getting it to work and they did provide an extra wash cloth and bathroom hand towel but it was not always easy to make contact to ask for things. Most things we asked for, we needed to buy ourselves.The back yard, pool was great. However it is VERY windy in this area at night so we really could not sit outside after the sun was down. It is a nice house just beware that you have to supply it. Pack accordingly and rent a car. (Roads are rough in many locations)

Loved how walkable it was to get to restaurants and we had great services. This was a girls trip and we truly had a great time. The house is very welcoming and the beach is second to none.

This was a last minute rental for us due to a cancellation at our chosen property because of a power outage. The positives of the home are the parking, the home is situated directly on the ocean with a small pool also oceanfront, The air conditioners work really well and the showers have lots of hot water. However the pictures do not adequately represent the condition of the home. Unfortunately there has been very little upkeep in the maintenance. Many of the windows are unable to close completely allowing for bugs to crawl and fly in, the front door has two inch gaps around the entire jam also allowing for bugs to come in. There are no screens for any of the doors or windows if you would just like fresh air without the airconditioning. There are roaches in the kitchen that come out at night and mini ants crawling all over the counters. The beds are like sleeping on concrete and sheets have stains all over them one even had a footprint, we were convinced we were sleeping on box springs with eggcrate foam on top. The beds were only made with a thread bare sheet the first night, we had to use our towels as blankets. Thank god they brought us each a light blanket the second night. The few bathroom towels provided which was one per person for the entire week stay were stained, scratchy and dingy. The bathrooms are filthy, lots of soap scum and black mildew, you have to beg for toilet paper. The couch no longer has any cushion left, you actually feel the frame.

Some good, Some Bad

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Villa Casa Sol - the property is in an ideal location in Tankah Bay on a nice stretch of beach and walking distance to a few different restaurants. The house is spacious and the pool area is great. Our stay would have been 5/5 if the following issues were addressed - the linens/towels are in need of replacement, there was no hot water anywhere in the house, there was an issue with the sewer/septic system that made two of the upstairs washrooms unusable due to the smell of raw sewage. I don’t think it is realistic to expect everything to be perfect in this particular area but based on discussions with guests in the neighbouring VRBO property, it did not sound like they were experiencing any of these issues. It should also be noted that one of the beds/baths is located in a separate building behind the main building, which was not clear based on the listing.
