At check in, 5:30 PM on Friday, there was no one working the front desk. I waited 10 minutes and no one showed up. I walked around the lobby and could not find any employees. I found the desk attendant outside the hotel sitting at a table texting on his phone. I find this unacceptable!!!! After checking into my room I discover that the base of the toilet was leaking with water all over the bathroom floor. I went to the front desk and informed the front desk attendant of the issue. He offered to put us on a new room. I said that we were only staying the night and continuing on to AZ early AM. In addition we had already unloaded 4 travel totes and 2 road bikes into the room. I did not want to move all that gear to another room for I asked that the staff clean the floor and wrap towels around the base to absorb the water. I also asked that they clean the floor. When I returned from dinner the toilet had towels around the base but the floor was not cleaned. I used a hand towel and cleaned the floor my self. Lastly, when we returned from dinner, there was another person trying to check in with no desk staff behind the desk. I shared my experience that I had earlier in the evening where staff was outside. Also I shared with him that the front desk employee was sitting on a chair outside in the front of the hotel. Clearly this Home 2 Suite has a lot of management and staff issues. I will continue to use Home 2 Suites but I will not return to this location.
