Puckey Hill, elevated views across Portloe
Experience - The Area...Set in an elevated position with lovely views down across Portloe and beyond is Puckey Hill, a substantial, double fronted, detached property with ample outside space including attractive landscaped garden to the rear with superb sea views. The historic fishing village of Portloe is an ideal base for those wanting to walk the coastal path or for those just wanting to sit back and relax. The village can boast a traditional pub as well as the Lugger Hotel down by the harbour which is open to non-residents and serves super lunches and cream teas. Veryan with its famous round houses is just a couple of miles away and St Mawes with its glorious castle a twenty minute drive from Portloe. A passenger ferry from St Mawes to Falmouth operates throughout the year and Falmouth is well worth a visit with this popular maritime town being home to the world renowned National Maritime Museum. More beaches around the Roseland Peninsula and Carne remain relatively uncrowded during the summer months with a few of them dog friendly too. These beaches include Portscatho (mainly rocky) and Porthcurnick beach (the latter being dog friendly) which are both 6 miles away.Stay - The Accommodation...Just 50 yards uphill from the village car park in Portloe you will find Puckey Hill.A combination of sloping pathway and steps lead up to the house with convenient access from the side porch.Entered from the porch is a fully fitted kitchen with numerous appliances providing ample set down and storage space with practical slate flooring.
