« The Sportslander is just what I expected, an older motel that had all the basics covered. The room was older style, clean and on the end of a 10 day straight run of over 40 deg temps the pool and aircon did the job, the bed was comfy, there was no noise and had a good night sleep. For a budget one night stay, it did the job very well. »

« When we booked this place we were expecting from the description on expedia a hotel in a resort with all the facilities described. Unfortunately for us it was a suburban 2 bed unit nothing like the description. The property needs maintenance and a good clean. « Didn't realise this was a contactless hotel with no reception. I checked in later in the day after driving up from Melbourne. Didn't realise ther was no ironing board in the room. I had a function that evening and needed to iron my clothes. I sent a text message to the hotel and called but there was no answer. « Etablissement un peu vieillot et loin du centre ville mais un personnel accueillant et coopératif. Le Wifi est aléatoire (Souvent en Australie) et la piscine petite mais bien entretenue. « I had a concerning experience during our stay. The room doors shut very quickly and forcefully, which can be dangerous—especially for children. Unfortunately, my daughter’s finger got stuck in the door. Thankfully, she wasn’t injured very badly, but it was a very scary moment for us. I strongly recommend the hotel consider installing soft-closing mechanisms or safety features to prevent such incidents in the future. No questions asked at all - she's a very small dog though. it was a small but comfy room, bed was nice and soft as I like it. only issues are the towel which were clean but old and quit thin, and the TV which had pretty much no channels on it - not that that is a deal breaker these days as I'm generally too busy Workington watch tv anyway. »

« Have stayed here before. The staff are very accommodating and friendly. For an older establishment, it still presents fine. The shower was nice and hot, the bed comfy enough. We were in the southern end, which was subject to the noise of the carwash next door, but with the bathroom door closed it was fine and didn't go all night anyway.
