This unique retreat in Capitol Reef country sets the tone for your old west vacation. Restored on the original wood spoke running gear by master craftsmen, this charming space is perfect for two and a child or a dog. The queen memory foam mattress assures a good night sleep. As in the old days there is no shower, but the other facilities are provided. Set on Elk Valley Ranch, this will be the part of your vacation you will long remember

Great stay for the experience. The single wagon is located in a really quiet farm area. Pay no attention to the address on VRBO -the owner’s directions are the only one to use. It may come the same day of the stay. Wagon has comfy bed, heater, coffee and tea makers. The bathroom is of course not in the wagon and is only a short 150 feet away. Very nice bathroom. Enjoy. Bonus - dark sky area and great view of Milky Way.

We stayed one night at Shepard’s Camp Wagon during the first week of September and had such a wonderful experience! The property itself is absolutely stunning, and the wagon was beautifully set up with warm lighting and a cozy outdoor seating area. We were initially worried it might be too warm inside, but the temperature was perfect and very comfortable. The restroom was just a short walk away and was very clean and nice. Waking up to watch the cows while sipping on morning coffee made the stay even more special. If you’re looking for a comfortable, warm, and inviting place to relax, this is the perfect spot. Highly recommend!

Extremely unique experience. The lack of noise and light pollution was very surreal. Communication with Tim (owner) was on point. His clear instructions to get to the location made it a breeze. Couldn't get over the fact we were sleeping in a wagon. Highly recommend it

Beautiful ranch and unique wagon accommodation.

Gorgeous place. Enjoyed a moonlit night with a campfire. There IS a shower (note on VRBO indicates no shower); shower is just not located IN the wagon. Accessibility: Must climb a 3 step ladder to enter wagon so could be a challenge for some. Less than 20 mins to restaurants. Host, Tim was very congenial. Unique experience, would recommend.

Lovely little wagon. We enjoyed spending one night there celebrating our 34th wedding anniversary. The owner has thought through everything needed to make our stay comfortable. Communication with the owner was via messages and so was checking in process as the person communicating with us wasn't there when we checked in.

A Different Experience

If you are looking for a different lodging experience this fits the bill. I would equate the experience to tent camping. Location was not as expected. There were no other people staying in the area although there were residences near by. Nearest eating establishments were a bit a of drive. If you are looking to get away from it all, this is the place.

Wagon Experience

Once in a lifetime experience. Located on a beautiful ranch in Grover Utah near Capital Reef National Park. Cute interior with hanging lanterns, comfortable bed, wonderful bathroom nearby, and lovely lights in the trees as we sat outside at night. Easy check in process and great communication with the friendly owners. Would love to stay there again if we come back to the park.

This was such a fun stay! The property is beautiful and close to town for restaurants. The camp wagon was clean cool at night. The bathroom and shower are a short walk from the camp wagon. The host was very friendly and gave clear directions. We loved our unique stay here.

Beautiful location. Accurate listing

This property is amazing. Well worth the travel and the fee to stay. We would recommend this experience to everyone. Property was ready, clean, and organized. the host was very welcoming. We could have stayed for many more nights if time would of allowed. The only small glitch is the address listed on verbo does not exactly agree with GPS maps so be sure to make contact with property host before ventureing into the area. With the right entry it's very easy to find. Also verbo states no shower in the listing however there is a very clean restroom and shower area available with your stay .

Such a nice and cozy place to stay. Very quiet and easy to find (between GPS and the owners directions). The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was very nice and clean. It’s just minutes away from Capital Reef. It was perfect!

Great way to get away from it all, yet close to Capitol Reef National Park.

We just loved our stay. Besides being such a novelty, it was clean comfortable, quiet, and private. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom facilities were like new. And, the bonus, we got to live a childhood fantasy.
