Mere Cottage, Taupo Central accommodation

Just a 10-minute walk from town and the main lakefront beach, this chic retro cottage is ideal for your Taupo stay. Despite its 70sqm size, the sunny, north-facing villa feels spacious with a separate kitchen, generous lounge, master bedroom, and bathroom. Plus, an extra room off the lounge with 2 single beds and a small dining table adds family-friendly charm. Enjoy all the comforts of home while exploring Taupo.

The cottage kitchen includes all the essentials: a full-size oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, and basic cooking utensils.

We like to give guests their space, however we are available for any queries regarding the house via the Airbnb app throughout your stay.

This cottage is ideally situated close to Taupo Town, just 2km from two supermarkets and main streets. A short walk takes you to the "Four Square Praters" shopping center, which features a dairy, local butcher, and cafe. Nearby, on Taharepa & Rokino Road, you'll find "Mole & Chicken," a popular restaurant and bar, as well as "Grasshopper" for fish and chips or Chinese takeout. Plus, you're only a 2-minute drive from a variety of restaurants, bars, takeaways, and nightlife.

Taupo is a fantastic spot in the heart of New Zealand's North Island, known for its breathtaking scenery and endless outdoor fun. Sitting on the edge of Lake Taupo, the country’s biggest lake, it’s a perfect place for both relaxation and adventure.

Please note the 2 king single beds are located in a ‘walk through’ room off the lounge, that leads to the shower and washing machine. This room would not be described as a separate bedroom.

Only guests who are booked to stay at Mere Cottage are allowed on site, unless by prior arrangement.

Smoking and vaping are not permitted within the cottage. If you are a smoker, we request you remove your butts.

Please respect out quite time between 10PM and 7AM
No parties or loud events, we have a strict noise curfew between 10pm - 7am as our neighbours are important to us.
