POSITIVES: Leo the manager going w/ me from room to room trying to find a clean one & one where the air-con wasn’t rattling. Some improvements w/ the lighting…Sheets & towels seemed to be clean.
NEGATIVES: Levi, who’s being trained to attend the front desk, giggled when I arrived & asked him whether the room had been vacuumed as I had requested (on this occasion & previously). He said: “Yeah, it’s pretty clean”. Explained to him the importance of working in hospitality & the expectations guests have of hotels they’re staying at should be taken seriously & more respectfully. Strange stains on carpet like spots of dye or blood. Carpet/floor hadn’t been fully vacuumed/cleaned. There were hair strands on the bedspread & a hair strand on the wall near the window! Flooring & one of the outlets near the bed were shabby, dirty & the skirting boards were makeshift w/ big gaps between the floor & wall. The toilet periphery & mouldings were dirty, w/ hair & debris. A sticker from underwear was left stuck on the bathroom door. Microwave was lopsided, appeared to have a missing base on one side (please see attached photo). Bathroom shelf slanted downwards so when anything was placed on the shelf, the item would roll down into the sink. The toilet roll holder had been affixed up high near where a person’s shoulder would be when sitting using the toilet. The space is so narrow, I’d hit my shoulder on the toilet roll holder which BTW is metal. No Valance on old bed base (All photos attached)
