Tucked into the peaceful mountain valley of Sugar Grove, just 5 minutes from Valle Crucis, Evergreen Lodge is the perfect place to experience winter in North Carolina’s High Country.

Enjoy your morning coffee on the deck, gather around the fire pit overlooking the mountains, or unwind in the six-person hot tub beneath the crisp mountain sky. When it’s time to head inside, a full upstairs arcade awaits with entertainment for the whole group.

With space for up to 8 guests, Evergreen Lodge puts you just 15 minutes from Boone and 20 minutes from Banner Elk—close to High Country adventures, yet wonderfully peaceful when you return.

The Living Space

Gather in the cozy living area, complete with a fireplace, a 75-inch TV, and comfortable seating. It’s the perfect spot for movie nights, football weekends, and relaxing evenings after a day exploring the High Country.

When everyone’s ready for a little friendly competition, head upstairs to the full arcade for hours of entertainment.

Sleeping Arrangements — Sleeps 8

Main Level: Primary suite with a king bed, private bathroom with double vanity, and High Country hunting-dog décor.

Upper Level: Trout-themed bedroom with a king bed, inspired by the brook, brown, and rainbow trout found in local waters.

Upper Level: The Blueprint Room with two queen beds, decorated with the home’s original blueprints.

Off the main living area, a dedicated office and flex room offers a desk, pullout sofa, children’s toys and books, and space for a Pack ’N Play.

Outdoor Living

Evergreen Lodge’s outdoor spaces offer plenty of ways to enjoy the peaceful mountain setting throughout winter. Take in the views from the deck, gather around the fire pit patio on suitable evenings, or end the day with a relaxing soak in the six-person hot tub.

Additional outdoor features include ambient deck and patio lighting, a new BBQ grill, plenty of seating, and a doggy gate on the deck.

Please use caution around outdoor areas during freezing weather, as snow and ice may make surfaces slippery.

Pet-Friendly

Dogs are genuinely welcome at Evergreen Lodge, with outdoor space to enjoy the peaceful mountain setting alongside the family. Please supervise pets outdoors and be mindful of cold temperatures and winter conditions.

Getting Around & Things to Know

Mountain roads can be steep, and winter weather conditions may change quickly at elevation. From December through March, AWD or 4WD is recommended. Snow and ice may affect driving conditions, so check the local forecast and road updates before traveling and allow extra time to reach the property.

After booking, the guest must complete two quick online items within 48 hours (or before check-in, whichever comes first): our Rental Reservation Agreement and our House Rules & Guest Policies. Both are signed online and take about five minutes. The booking guest must be 25 or older and present for the stay. Reservations where these are not completed within 48 hours may be canceled.
