  • Real Escapes Properties is pleased to offer "Baisden Cottage", an adorable one-level, single family cottage with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, pet friendly with a pool!

    Baisden Cottage, located at 499 Baisden Lane, is a charming 3 bedroom, 2 bath cottage located minutes from the heart of St. Simons Island. Located off Demere Road, this property is only 1/2 mile to the Coast Guard Beach Access Point. 3/4 miles in the opposite direction will have you in the heart of the pier village area of St. Simons.

    The den and dining areas are delightfully airy and give you the perfect beach-vibe! The Master bedroom has a Queen bed, TV and a en-suite bath, including an over-sized shower. There are two additional bedrooms - one with a Queen sized bed and one with a full/twin bunk set.

    This property also features a back patio with seating for four.

    The Cottage is a very easy walk or bike ride (only 0.9 mile) on the sidewalks to the village. The closest beach is a very dog friendly, low tide beach and a favorite spot for viewing the 4th of July fireworks shooting off from the Saint Simons pier. Within the Village you will find several great restaurants, bars, retail shops, and lots of outdoor activities. At the far end of the village sits the pier. The pier is perfect for fishing, crabbing, sunset strolls, and watching the schools of playful dolphins. Past the pier, stroll the oceanfront path leading to the large community grill area under the large live oaks, two play grounds, the newly remodeled oceanfront community pool and mini golf, the Saint Simons library, and the historic lighthouse.

    NOTE: The backyard is completely fenced in.
    POOL DIMENSIONS: 10 x 20 ft; 4 ft deep with a sun deck (pool cannot be heated)

    CHECK IN: 4:00 pm
    CHECK OUT: 10:00 am

    • Any group gatherings and events at this property are limited to the number of occupants (8 persons).
    • Up to 2 dogs under 30 lbs. allowed ($100/pup non-refundable fee) (No cats.)
    • Parking is available for 2 cars in driveway
    • 1/2 mile to Public Beach Access, 3/4 mile to Pier Village

    Minimum age to rent is 25. This applies to all guests with the exception of multi-generational families.

    What to Expect in your Unit:
    • There are 4 TVs in this property.
    • Linens (Bath towels & bed sheets) are provided
    • Starter Supply of Toilet Paper, Soap, Paper Towels and Trash Bags. Any additional supplies needed during tenancy will be the responsibility of the guest.

Great girls weekend

The house was simply beautiful. Spotlessly clean and very well supplied with the essentials. The location is great, easy to get to all St. Simons has to offer. Within walking distance to the lighthouse and pier I would be more than happy to stay again and I highly recommend this house to anyone.

We took our 3 ’Tween-agers’ on a beech trip. This house could not have been anymore perfect, especially with the pool. We plan to make it back.

Overall, the place was great. Had to wash towels when we first got there and pool was dirty. The downfall we had was the pool guy and the lawn people came with no warning from the property management or was warned via check-in. We were in the backyard and relaxing with no warning. We have dogs which they started to bark and alert us someone was coming in.

Best stay ever

This was our first trip to SSI and my first time using VRBO. The ease of communication with Real Escapes Properties was amazing....the only thing that surpassed it was the rental we were in. It was convenient to everywhere, clean, and more than we expected. The in ground pool was a pleasant surprise and absolutely just added to the trip. We are already planning our next visit.

Minor Change Needed

This little house was just perfect for a girls weekend to the island! The location is great, the home sits at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac.. We enjoyed riding our bikes to breakfast each morning from the home and the beach was just a short 3 minute drive by car. It is obvious the owners have put a lot of time and effort into the home. however, the beds were just horrible! As much as we enjoyed the home, we would not return without assurance that the mattresses on all beds had been replaced.

This was the first year using Real Escapes. It was a seamless process. The cottage was located on a dead end quiet street. Neighbors were friendly. The cottage was extra clean and beautifully decorated. Location was great, the girls could walk to East Beach. I was just extremely happy we found a place that allowed our dog to come along. We will definitely book again.

Schools out for summer teacher getaway

This property was perfect for our party of 8 teachers who wanted a relaxing weekend away….clean, well equipped, decorated well, check in smooth. Only negative was we do like to walk places and this was a little bit of a walk, but we still did it. I would recommend renting bikes or carts. Great stay.

House is newly constructed and furnished with top notch furniture and appliances, dishes, etc. Management company is very helpful and efficient if you need anything.
