We spent a wonderful week with our two-year-old granddaughter in this property, with our son, daughter-in-law and baby grandson moving in for a couple of days to celebrate my birthday.
The house is very close to the New Forest and Paulton's, probably the best family theme park operating at the moment. It is a combination of a quaint thatched cottage (mind your head!) and a spacious modern conservatory-style extension, giving on to a fine garden ideal for garden parties, which in turn gives on to fields. There are neighbours close by, one of whom is happy to answer any queries.
Wi-fi is excellent - use the router in the new part with the password from the book - and indeed the one phrase which occurred first to us on entering the house was 'well appointed'. So, for example, when the gales started and we found ourselves pinned down with a demanding toddler we discovered a treasure trove of books and toys. The same with the television, which has Netflix as standard.
Our hosts too were tremendous - I managed to leave behind two of my birthday presents which were sent to me without charge.
In fact, the only criticism we had about this property - which was in quality and provision head and shoulders above other cottages where we have lately stayed in an effort to escape the lockdown - was that the ground floor bathroom is separated into a shower room and a toilet with some distance between them.
That said, our whole experience here was perfectly enjoyable and we would not hesitate to give it our full recommendation.
