The Severn Bridge (Welsh: Pont Hafren), sometimes also called the Severn–Wye Bridge, is a motorway suspension bridge spanning the River Severn and River Wye between Aust, South Gloucestershire (just north of Bristol) in England, and Chepstow, Monmouthshire in South East Wales, via Beachley, Gloucestershire, a peninsula between the two rivers. It is the original Severn road crossing between England and Wales and took three and half years[3] to construct at a cost of £8 million.[4] It replaced the Aust ferry.

The bridge was opened on 8 September 1966, by Queen Elizabeth II, who hailed it as the dawn of a new economic era for South Wales. The bridge was granted Grade I listed status on 26 November 1999.[5]

From 1966 to 1996, the bridge carried the M4 motorway. Upon the completion of the Second Severn Crossing, the motorway from Olveston (England) to Magor (Wales) was renamed the M48.

« We had a great time at the resort, the place was ideally situated for everything we wanted to do. The lodge was spacious and had all what we needed and the spa area also had all the amenities for anything you wanted to do. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and the food was very good. My only gripe was that in the outside play area for the children, there was a football area to close to the childrens play area and the goal was that end, so at times the ball was going into the play area...

« Deer Leap is a fabulous lodge in a lovely setting and really quite private. Spotlessly clean and smelled lovely on entering. We loved the hot tub and the bathroom door leading directly to it outside. The twinkly lights over the covered seating area outside were so pretty at night. The huge bed was super-comfy, we slept very well. "Très bon séjour dans cet hôtel. Accueil sympathique. Grande chambre familiale avec un coin avec un canapé lit (moyennement confortable et bruyant) et un coin avec un lit double. De la place pour le rangement. Grande salle de bain, produits de toilette et grande serviette de douche très moelleuse !! Un excellent petit déjeuner, varié et copieux. Super déco sur le buffet du petit dej et dans le hall. Situé à 10/15 minutes du centre ville. Parking à prix réduit en face de l'hôtel"

"Compared to the Z Hotel in Holborn (which was ok), this one was stellar! The staff was very warm and lovely, my room was so nice with a lovely view on Bath, what a treat! I preferred the bathroom there. It was smaller than the one in Holborn but better organised with a proper door on the shower. Modern, lovely and well located hotel (even though I had an issue finding it using Google Maps!, it’s actually nestled between the Five Guys and the Lane 7 - don’t worry you can’t smell any fried food nor hear any ruckus!) thanks for a great but short stay!"
