Welcome to Stargazer Hocking Hills, a family-owned vacation cabin where you'll experience adventure with friends and family while you explore the heavens and the hills! Spend quality time together on the oversized covered deck as you grill your evening meal, watching the sunset and the night sky extravaganza to follow.

Chat about the day's hikes adventures throughout the interior of the genuine log cabin, huddled around the fireplace or large kitchen table in the main living area, or settled into the cozy loft with a digital board game on our Infinity Table.

As you wind down, relax in the hot tub and give your body a break after a full day hiking the trails. Settle in for the night on one of our premium mattresses and fall asleep as you gaze at the stars outside your window.

Wake in the morning to the amazing sunrise, an invigorating cup of coffee from our French press and a walk around the 11 acres of nature at its finest - including open grasslands, wooded hills and the stocked fishing pond. We know you'll be dreaming about this space for years to come after you've spent some of your best moments here.

FIRST FLOOR

When you arrive, you'll enter through the rustic front door right off the wraparound deck using our secure keypad check-in. Walk into the primary living area to the right with cozy gas fireplace, 65" TV and comfortable seating for your entire group.

Straight ahead, you'll enter the fully stocked open kitchen with large breakfast bar island and dinner table - seating for 12 total. The kitchen is fully stocked - offering full sized appliances, dishes, cookware, Keurig and French press coffee machines, and host of other tools and kitchen items to complement your cooking needs.

Also on the main level, the master bedroom offers a king-sized bed with premium mattress, RokuTV, closet space and sliding door walk-out to the screened-in deck. Connected is a dual-entry expansive master bathroom, with spacious shower and dual sinks.

Need to get some laundry done during your stay? Use our spacious laundry room, with detergent provided, or hang your coats out of the way.

UPPER FLOOR

Climb the stairs to another excellent gathering space, with relaxing seating in the large loft and huge open-view windows. Prepare to battle your friends and family on hundreds of games on the Infinity game table, relax on the oversized sleeper sofa or settle in for a movie or the big game on the 65" TV!

You'll be blown away by the featured hi-res photos of the astronomical wonders, all taken from our very own observatory on the property! Need to get a bit of work done while the family plays? Retreat to our cozy remote-work space with adjustable height desk and ergonomic office chair in the loft nook, or grab a book for anyone in the family to dive in to.

Additionally on the second floor, you'll find a full bathroom to the right with vaulted ceiling and skylight. Two bedrooms round out the space - one comfortable queen bed setup with a TV and in-room closet, and our bunk room - perfect for the kids to settle into or any of the "big" kids in your group. This room also hosts "the best bed in the house", with a perfect view of the night sky to fall asleep to!

OUTDOORS

"Joel's place is perfect for a stay in Hocking Hills! The location was great. It was a quick drive to all the hikes and highlights we had scheduled - Ash Cave, Old Man's Cave, etc were a mere 10 minutes away. It's called Stargazer, but Moongazer would also be apt... our group was blown away by viewing the moon on two clear night's from the observatory! Add in an outdoor fire ring, ample property space, a hot tub, and a beautiful open living space indoors and we couldn't have asked for a better long weekend away!" - Emily

The real crowd-pleaser for our home is the outside setup, highlighted by the only private open-sky observatory on the rental market! When the sun goes down, slide the motor-driven roof off and gaze in awe at a sky rarely witnessed with this level of clarity and beauty in pure darkness. Give our high-end Celestron telescope a try and take your own heavenly pictures with the smart phone adapter. Relax in the double hammock or on the futon with your closest friends - in late spring through early fall, sleep under the stars!

Explore our 11 acres - walk around the pond or fish for the big one, blaze your own trail through the wooded ravine, and play catch with the kids or the dogs. Fire up the grill, relax on the oversized covered porch, or feed your competitive side with our ping pong table and Stargazer-branded cornhole set. This place truly has it all!

All bathrooms are fully stocked - towels, handsoap, bodywash/shampoo/conditioner, and all the other necessities!

KEY AMENITIES/EXTRAS

- Fully stocked kitchen, Keurig k-cup, drip pot or French press options, air fryer, skillet, toaster, dishwasher, pots, pans etc - everything you need to cook anything you want!
- We have 4 SmartTVs (Roku) with streaming apps
- Starlink High-speed Internet (100+ Mbps) - plenty to stream, work and play!
- Infinity Game Table - a fun way to play all your favorite board games without missing pieces!
- All linens, extra bath and hot tub towels provided, with laundry (and detergent!) on site available for you to use.
- We offer shampoo, conditioner, soaps, basic pantry items, etc. We don't "starter pack" with bare bones amenities, meaning you've got to drive to town for essentials - instead, come enjoy your stay with reasonable stock of the basic consumables and enough coffee to get you through!
- We keep a "pay it forward" pantry - feel free to leave unopened, nonperishable foods, spices, condiments - you are free to use what's there (or bring your own!)

THINGS TO KNOW

- We are dog friendly - bring up to two well-mannered and trained dogs, free of charge! Please help us keep our property amazing by keeping pets off furniture and cleaning up after them so future guests don't have to!
- Traveling in winter? Hocking Hills - and getting to the cabin, has some steep hills. Consider bringing a vehicle with AWD if snow or ice are expected.
- The Observatory houses our router, telescope and some key electrical components; we MUST ensure it remains functional, protected from the weather and in good condition; a failure to close the roof when not in use will result in a $500 fine: we strongly suggest a responsible adult be present with any children in the observatory.

**We have one security camera facing the parking area of the property, simply to notify us when guests arrive. A second camera faces the Observatory in the back yard to confirm the roof is shut when not in use. Hot tub, firepit and any other common or living areas are not visible on camera.**

Stargazer has proven to hold the keys to adventure around every corner - everywhere you look, there's another opportunity to see and do things differently and more amazingly than before! We love building memories by the pond, seeking out different star formations, and relaxing by the fire.
