An amazing location and property. Quiet and well designed home with a very comfortable layout. Just needs a deep cleaning including removing very visible stains from walls⊠and dust on all surfaces including low light fixtures.
We stayed at this property for a winter getaway from February 7-9. The layout is spacious and worked well for our family, and the location is conveniently close to the main road. We also enjoyed the high ceilings and the nice balcony. However, the overall quality of the space was subpar. Cleanliness was an issueâlinens were not as fresh as expected, light fixtures were dusty, and the space didnât feel thoroughly cleaned. The upstairs shower took too long to heat up, and check-out time was too early, especially since the cleaner arrived before we had even checked out. Also, finding the key box was confusing due to unclear instructions. While the space has potential, better cleanliness, clearer instructions, and a more reasonable check-out time would make the stay much more enjoyable.
I wanted to love this cabin but I just couldnât get over how dirty it was. It was so bad we left a day early. I cannot even begin to understand why we are charged a ridiculous fee for cleaning when it was far from being clean. A few examples being that the fridge had blood from meat that had sat in there, also human hair in the fridge. Bathtub/showers had dirt and hair as well as a blue sheen of some type of cleaning product that was sprayed on and left. We will not be staying at this cabin again. It has so much potential and itâs unfortunate that the owners donât take more pride in fixing it up a bit
Arrived at the house and check in was easy but the house is dingy and not comfortable. Only one couch and soft chair. There were brown recluse spiders everywhere even got one crawling on me in the middle of the night. Needs a good deep clean occasionally and pest control.
Very close to town just a few minutes away. Also close to main road, quick and easy access. House is very nice. I do recommend to add better cookware. We struggled a lot to make breakfast as all pans did not work and our food was getting stuck on pan. Also there was not much of utensil such as knives, bowls, cups etc. Bedrooms were nice with plenty of room but beds were not comfortable at all. Overall we made everything work to have a great time. We also took walks in the "backyard" into the woods which was very relaxing. It has a huge deck but definitely needs a fire pit of some sort.
Dirty, beds stained not washed plyboard and bricks under better to keep up. Not comfortable. Chips in couch. Upstairs shower looks like it not sturdy. Rude person came to tell us to leave .
The Cabin is flat out filthy. I cannot belieive that a business that owns this cabin would allow such a place to be borderline uninhabitable. The amount of dust everywhere in unbelievable. I purposely requested the place be cleaned after reading another reviewers comments, especially since I was bringing aninfant, and long story short, anyone walking barefoot, or baby crawling on the floor, were left with black marks and dust all over the skin. The air is so dusty and stale. There is no AC unit, only heating, but the air filter looked like it hadn't been changed in years. By the end of the 3 night stay, multiples people left with sick or suffered severee allergies. Not good, expecially if one is worried about COVID. I almost cancelled and headed home 3 hours away on the first night.
There is no bear safe place to throw trash, just a few cans outside the door with basic plastic lids. I figured they knew something about the local animals that we didn't so we emptied our trash on night 2. Sure enough, a small bear came and scattered the trash all over the dirt, but luckily I caught it in the act in the early AM and was able to run him off. We kept the stinky trash inside the home the rest of the stay. The pool table looks great on picture, but is warped pretty good. Of the approximately 10 pool cue sticks hanging on the wall, only 1 had a tip to chalk, the rest were bare to the plastic. I saw the seating in the pictures and was a little concerned, but after trying it out, I cannot stress enough, the place is not that big, and comfortable couch seating is limited. There is more but I'll leave with this, I, nor anyone of my friends or family, will be booking a place owned by this local vacation business in the future. PS. As soon as you book through VRBO, they send out there own VACASA app for you to sign up and manage your trip. I regret creating the account, becuase now they have been email spamming me with their other vacation homes.
Upon arrival we were greeted with an ant infestation in the kitchen, with trails of ants going to food crumbs scattered in the living room, under the futon, the dining table and other areas where there was spilled food or drink. We called Vacasa mgmt. that night, and Joe, the mgmt. team exterminator came out the next morning approx. 10:30. Joe was very professional, knowledgeable and courteous. We showed him the sink area, the dishwasher (ants covered the inside), and one particular drawer to the left of the sink area where someone had previously sprayed ant killer all over, including all the utensils in the drawer. Needless to say, we did not use any utensils or dishes during our stay, bought paper plates, cups and plastic utensils to use all week. Joe said he would notify mgmt. about the dead ants and ant spray in that one particular drawer. Our first 90 mins. of vacation time in this house was spent killing ants with wet paper towels, and sweeping the entire downstairs to mitigate the ant problem. The ant bait traps and spraying that Joe did helped, although on our last day of the week, there were still ants wandering around the sink area. We have been renting various houses in Shaver Lake area for over 10 years, this was the first time with Vacasa, and the last. We are extremely disappointed with the condition of the house we walked into, and the ant spray covering the one drawers utensils, was reprehensible, you could see ans smell the Raid spray residue still on the utensils! As stated above, with all the rentals we have had over the years in Shaver Lake, this was the worst.
