Impossible to miss, you will arrive at the Yellow Door Inn and immediately be drawn to the Carolina blue home with beautiful white pillars and the distinct Yellow Door that is our namesake. Owned by a very famous Hollywood stuntman, this picturesque townhome is the epitome of Savannah charm, tucked away on a quiet street with cobblestone sidewalks.

Pull around behind the property to enjoy private off-street parking and enter the home through the rear door using your unique door code.

From the rear of the home, walk directly into a brand new, modern kitchen featuring custom black sheen cabinets and beautiful quartz countertops. Just off the rear entrance, you also find a fully custom powder room featuring moody black and gold accents that genuinely accentuate the modern luxury you will find in the home.

The kitchen is fully appointed for your stay and features many high-end features. Find pots, pans, kitchen utensils, dishware, and small appliances such as a toaster, coffee maker, blender, and more. Nothing has been spared to ensure you have everything you need to cook during your stay. A peninsula counter provides countertop seating for three, and a dining set is set for four. Behind a beautiful custom barndoor, you will find the home's brand-new stacked washer and dryer ready for use. As you step towards the living space, you will find an under-stair bar with a wine cooler, ideal for stocking up during your stay.

The living room is spacious and features an oversize sofa and reading chair oriented around a brand-new 55-inch smart TV. An excellent place to gather, the living room provides ample space for everyone to relax at the end of the day. Board games, cards, and high-speed WIFI for streaming supply plenty of in-home entertainment if your planned activities are rained out.

Travel the wide staircase to the home's second floor, where you will find both bedrooms. Atop the stairs, enjoy original hardwood flooring throughout the winding hallway that goes front to the back of the home. Directly off the stairs, you will find the home's main suite featuring a brand-new king mattress with crisp linens, 43 inch smart TV, and its private rear-facing balcony. A full dresser and closet provide plenty of storage. Directly off the main suite is the first full bathroom featuring a pedestal sink, low-entry shower, and all the bathroom essentials you need including towels, shampoo, body wash, and a hair dryer.

Walk along the upstairs hall to find the second bedroom, office, and the second full bathroom. The bedroom features a velvet bedframe, a brand-new queen mattress, fresh linens, and plush pillows. High ceilings and a large window pour in natural light, while a full dresser and closet provide ample storage space.

Between the bedrooms, find the second bathroom that features a new vanity, shower/tub combination, and all the bathroom essentials.

The third room is a fully dedicated workspace that is perfect for anyone working remotely during their stay. Our free high-speed WIFI is ideal for video conferencing and multitasking.

Located in the Victorian District East, the Yellow Door Inn puts you in the heart of Savannah. You will be surrounded by everything the hostess city of the south has to offer.

Start your mornings with a walk over to Forsyth Park, just five minutes, and stop through The Sentient Bean for espresso, coffee, and small breakfast bites. Are you craving some excellent diner food for breakfast? Walk down to Fork & Dagger Diner to enjoy that retro diner we all love.

Enjoy a variety of food types throughout the city. Just minutes from your door, stop in the Peking House for incredible Chinese food. Grab a Cubano from the Cuban Window Café, or get classy with seasonal American dishes with a southern touch at Local 11ten Food |Wine.

Ready to let loose and have a little fun? Savannah is home to some of the best pubs and nightlife around. Stop into the White Whale Craft Ales tasting room to taste some incredible local brews. Stop by The Black Rabbit, an old-school sandwich shop by day and pub by night. Are you heading north out of the neighborhood? Check out some of Savannah’s staple pubs like Six Pence Pub (British Inspired), O’Connell’s Irish Pub, or McDonough’s Restaurant & Lounge.

A trip to Savannah is only complete with exploring its rich colonial past. Stop through one of the many unique museums throughout the city, including the Ralph Mark Gilbert Civil Rights Museum, Beach Institute African American Cultural Center, or the fantastic Telfair Museums. Take Savannah’s vibrant art scene by stopping in the SCAD Museum of Art.

Remember to dedicate some time to exploring Savannah’s River Front! A little bit of a walk from the home but easily accessible by car and public transient, the riverfront provides an incredible Savannah experience full of small shops, cobble street roads, and endless dining options.

Not enough time to walk all the sights of Savannah? Take it all in at once while riding or biking. We are just minutes from Old Town Trolley Tours and Savannah Bike Tours. Check out the city skyline from the water by jumping on a Savannah Belle’s Ferries, with multiple stops along the Riverfront.

Getting around is easy with walkable streets, bike rentals, and uber service. Jump on Savannah’s public transit system with the Habersham & Park SB stop just a 2-minute walk from the home.



Getting Around:

Though you can pretty much walk to everything, there's a FREE trolley that you can pick up at the top of Forsyth Park called the DOT shuttle. It's roughly 5 blocks away and runs all through the Historic District and makes it easy to hop on and off at many popular sight-seeing destinations. There is also a new system in Savannah called The Downtowner which is essentially a FREE "uber" to where you need to go! Once you book with us we can provide you with more information :)

Please respect your neighbors! This is very much a residential neighborhood with plenty of owner-occupied residents as well as renters and short-term vacation rentals as well so let's do our part and keeping the neighborhood charming and quiet! We do not allow smoking of any kind inside the space, or anywhere near windows/doors outside. You may smoke in the rear yard.

  • Designed by John S. Norris for General Hugh Weedon Mercer, construction of the house began in 1860. Construction was interrupted by the American Civil War, and finally completed around 1868 by the new owner, John Wilder. 

Before Hansford's death, as retold in Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, the house had already been the scene of two deaths. In 1913, a previous owner tripped over the second floor banister, fractured his hip, and suffered a concussion, dying three days later. In 1964, a boy chasing pigeons on the roof fell over the edge and impaled himself on the iron fence below.

Great place to stay! This was our first trip visiting Savannah and we will definitely be coming back! The nicely decorated house was perfect and a close walk to Forsyth Park and nearby restaurants. We walked our dogs every morning in the historic park/district area, what a beautiful place! Our hosts were very welcoming and we were happy to have easy parking. Looking forward to our next visit!

Parking was a breeze. Master bedroom mattress was very comfortable. Washing machine was very clean. Some of the other places I’ve stayed in Savannah had black mold in their washers. This one did not. Kitchen was nice. Great shower pressure. Nearly decorated too. My Scad student took an interest in the artwork on the walls.

As soon as you opened the door you could smell and see the cleanliness of this place. The beds were very comfortable and the location was easy to get around. It was a very nice place. The only reason I gave it a 4 stars on neighborhood was no fault of the owner. His place was very clean but the properties around his was not maintained well so to take my dog to go potty I had to go around the block. The alley was very trashy as well. Again not owners fault as he doesn’t own those properties but it made it hard to go down ally to park our car. I would highly recommend this place. Chase was great at communicating!

The perfect Fido friendly stay!

Everything about this booking was amazing. The communication with the property manager was prompt & courteous. We were greeted with the fresh scent of a thoroughly cleaned interior upon our arrival. The decor was fun & exactly as pictured on the site. We enjoyed the convenience of the kitchen for breakfast & lunch, as well as the nearby dining & take out options of great restaurants. There are plenty of grassy areas outside the front door for your dog to do their "doody" & dog friendly entertainment & attractions everywhere ... Forsyth Park, Colonial Cemetery, the Riverwalk (even the ferry allows dogs there) & patio restaurants. We enjoyed the live music at Wexford's Irish Pub with our pup at our feet. We spent one day touring Wormsloe Historic Site & Skidaway State Park, also dog friendly. The shuttle to the ruins at Wormsloe will let your dog ride & they even encouraged us to bring her into the museum, though the website says otherwise so that was a pleasant surprise. When it was time to relax, we enjoyed sitting on the 2nd floor balcony, listening to music, sipping wine & people watching. Even at the hottest part of the day, the trees provided a refreshing breeze. We sat out there every day for an hour or two. Plenty of paper products & towels. Lots of seating. Comfy king bed in the master. QUIET street, no matter the time of day when we stayed in late April & the off street parking was a plus. Book this property! We hope to return with some family next time.

Great house, great location.

This was our first time in Savannah as a family and we had a great time. This house had plenty of room for our family of 5 and our dog. We all enjoyed walking around the neighborhood. I would highly recommend stopping by the Chinese Market, Party Pizza, and the Cuban place. All with in a 1 block walk. River St. is a little over a mile a way. We rented a golf cart which worked well for us on less busy streets. We would visit again.
