Host was very nice as were both kitchen helpers. We very much enjoyed the
Complimentary 4pm tea with nice sweet and savory treats. Everyone was super accommodating and tried to please. I feel where this hotel falls short (4 stars instead of 5) is in the room accommodation. We booked a king Garden Suite, acknowledging it was the cheapest offering. But it was still priced at just around $300/ night. (An expected price for a luxury hotel). However we didn’t realize it had an outdoor below ground level entrance and no windows. That wasn’t terrible, but even though it was basically clean, the room is somewhat dated and things in general were on the cheaper side. For example, the pump bottle of soap on the sink in the bathroom was super watery, feeling it was watered down to “stretch” it. The tissues felt cheap. There were robes and slippers in the closet but they were a weird gray material that was not inviting to put on. The seam was coming out on the slippers giving the feeling that the same ones might have been used over & over. These luxury items did not feel new, fresh or clean. The floors were all brick and cold. There was a thinish rug that barely covered under the bed, requiring slippers if you didn’t want to be barefoot on a cold floor. The lighting was as dim as could be. One dim fixture on the ceiling and super low lighting in the bathroom. Not ideal with no windows. The shower handle was loose and the key pad entrance lock didn’t work (needed new batteries).
