Isla en el Cielo: Home with Guesthouse is a stunning mountainside home in Potrero at the end of a two-mile road in the private, secluded neighborhood of Pacific Heights. This high-end property encompasses a beautiful three-bedroom house, a recently renovated two-bedroom guesthouse, and a spacious backyard with a sparkling infinity pool overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

The Space:
Isla en el Cielo: Home with Guesthouse comes with full access to the main house — a spacious, airy three-bedroom home with an open-concept living space, three beautifully furnished bedrooms, and four modern bathrooms. The living space features a bright, contemporary living room and a massive kitchen with high-end quartz countertops, white cabinets, and stainless steel appliances. However, Isla en el Cielo: Home with Guesthouse also provides access to a recently renovated guesthouse that can sleep an additional six guests between two bedrooms and a sofa bed in the living room. The guesthouse has a beautifully furnished living room with a sleek blue futon sofa, four lounge chairs, a flat-screen TV, and several movable ottomans.

Behind the sofa, you’ll find a dining space with a heptagon wood table and seven chairs under a stylish rattan light fixture. The dining space separates the living room and fully-equipped chef’s kitchen, which features white quartz countertops, high-end wood cabinets, and stainless steel appliances, including a refrigerator and freezer and a stovetop with a range hood. The kitchen has a quartz island and a wooden breakfast bar with four barstools under two elegant rattan light fixtures.

The main bedroom in the guesthouse has a king-sized bed, and the second bedroom has two single beds. Each bedroom is well-lit with plenty of windows. There is also one bathroom in the guesthouse with a walk-in shower, a double-sink vanity with stone countertops, and wooden drawers.

The guesthouse has a gorgeous covered terrace with a wicker dining table that seats four, a high-top bar, and a barbecue grill. The guesthouse shares a spacious patio with the main home, which includes a beautiful deck with all-new furniture, a barbecue grill, and lounge chairs. And, of course, the property's highlight is the pristine swimming pool that offers exceptional views of the mountains and ocean!

The Neighborhood:
Pacific Heights is a mountainside community in the hills above Playa Potrero with stunning ocean views. Look out on palm trees, lush gardens and the beautiful seascape, surrounded almost completely by frog-green hillsides. Mountain breezes make this hillside perch much cooler than the beach, and wild animals are frequently spotted here.

Drive down the road and you’re in Potrero, with easy access to three beaches (Potrero, Penca and Prieta), and many other beaches to the north and south. The Mediterranean-style village of Las Catalinas is nearby, as is the brand-new Marina Flamingo.

Offering easy access to three beaches (Potrero, Penca and Prieta), this town combines upscale lodging options with the charm of a traditional Costa Rican town (think central plaza with church, school and soccer field).
There are plenty of restaurants, shops and other conveniences, and the downtown area has two mini supers (convenience stores), as well as a commercial plaza with a coffee shop, a hairdresser and other businesses.
Some of the liveliest nightlife in the region can be found at Las Brisas Bar, right on the beach, though it’s normally hopping only on Wednesdays (Ladies’ Night).
Potrero has several nice housing developments with “Villagio” in the name, popular among Italians and other expats. You can find Italian gelato shops, Costa Rican sodas (small, affordable restaurants) and hotels in a range of prices (Pitaya Lodge, Bahía La Esmeralda, Hotel Isolina, Bahía del Sol).
Just to the south of Potrero lie all the attractions of Surfside, and to the north is a beautiful, hilly drive along the ocean, ending at the Mediterranean-style village of Las Catalinas. Potrero is within easy striking distance of several beaches, and it’s a great base to explore the entire region — for a sampler of both the high-end and the humble.

Getting Around:
Our agents will be happy to assist you with renting a car, giving you the freedom to explore the area where you want, when you want. For short drives to nearby towns or beaches, golf carts are another popular mode of transportation. You can also rent a bicycle to ride around in town or beyond.

We can arrange transfers to and from the airport. Rental cars can also be delivered to your property at no additional cost, allowing you to relax and enjoy the scenery as our private van drives you here from the airport.

Taxis are available but can be a bit hard to find. Many locals use buses to get around, though there are a limited number of routes and times of day when you can catch them. Private shuttles can be a great option for traveling to nearby destinations, and many tour companies offer transportation to and from the tour.
