New ownership at the property. They are working to get it up and running. It isn't a 5 star resort, we just slept there. The AC worked great, and room security is great. We enjoyed our stay at the hotel and will go back.

Great price! My daughter loved the pool. There is a lovely courtyard area. This could be a beautiful hotel with a little TLC. Beds were comfortable and clean. Apartment size frig and microwave. Spacious room. On the downside, our door frame was cracked and my daughter and I could not open/close the door. Property was a bit run down and dated. TV was small. Since we stayed for a Cedar Point visit, it was fine for our needs. We didnā€™t spend much time there.

Very clean room! Nice price. Even the shampoo was great and not some watered down generic stuff. Often I find lower priced places to be dirty and low level amenities but not here! Very nice place close to Cedar Point too!

Very affordable. Had 2 King rooms. 1 had a fridge and the other didnā€™t. 1 toilet had issues. 1 had a chirping smoke alarm. They quickly fixed that. The hotel has new owners and is making good upgrades but there are some things to go yet.

Avalon Inn is perfect if all you're needing is a clean place to sleep. It's not the prettiest place. A little rough around the edges. But the bed is comfy and clean and the rooms are cheaper than anything else in the area.

We stayed for 4 days the property desperately needs upgrades the beds were comfortable. The staff that works there are all very pleasant the young man doing the maintenance asked us how everything was and I said I was disappointed there wasnā€™t a fridge he said Iā€™ll see what I can do when we returned we had a fridge that really helped as we had brought some drinks for after the park the lady at the front desk was awesome she was very knowledgeable about cedar point and very helpful . For the rate we paid and the closeness to cedar point canā€™t complain Iā€™ve stayed in much worse down the road .Hopefully our next visit the property will have some more upgrades as I understand there are new owners and they are starting to upgrade the property. The one thing I did not like was the locks on the door they seemed a bit unsafe and not very secure in my opinion .

We arrived yesterday to check in and the property is disheveled, but the staff was kind and seemed eager to please so we tried to let the small stuff slide. After working all day and having dinner we returned to find our room unbearably hot. It doesn't have true Air Conditioning in the unit, we had a portable unit attached to one of the windows with an exhaust hose. The room was dirty and nothing was plugged in or functional. Not the phone, not the tv, nothing. The couch was stained and the carpets were filthy. I told my employee that I was going to bring it their attention and see if we could find a different room. This time an older indian gentleman who we presume was the owner tells us he will put us in a different room. He walked us clear across the property to a dimly lit dingy room which also had no Air Conditioning. As we were walking back towards reception, the owner said theyhad just purchased the property 3 weeks ago and that they had many problems to tackle but they hoped to update the property sometime next year. Long story short, I was not and am not comfortable or satisfied with either room they attempted to put us in. Neither was up to a basic standard that I find acceptable and certainly not worthy of paying for a weekend at. We left and found a reasonably priced room at Best Western Plus. I called and politely asked him to cancel the stay and he said he would cancel Sat/Sun, but tried to protest when asked to cancel the first night. Do not book.
External AC which left 2nd floor window unsecure and wasnt strong enough to cool whole room - could only keep front room lukewarm and separate bedroom was boiling hot.
TV was unplugged and inoperable when we walked in the room.

Everything was fine. Sure, a tiny bit dated, but plenty clean and impossible to beat for the price. I accidentally booked for the wrong day and they fixed it. I would (and probably will) absolutely come back when visiting cedar point, as long as the secret doesnā€™t get out.

My boyfriend and I decided to go on an impromptu trip to Cedar Point, and wanted a cheap place to stay. Avalon Inn is really good for the price and was just what we needed. It's only a couple miles from the park, which is really nice as well. Highly recommend staying here if you're looking for a cheap place to stay while visiting Cedar Point.

The deadbolt on the door did not work. One of the light switches/lights in the room did not work. There were people sitting in cars late at night. Because this hotel is so close to an amusement park people are checking in late, but these people in several cars were there for long periods of time. Safety is a serious issue at this hotel. If it wasn't so late at night, I would have left. The desk staff were very pleasant though.
